I have a Tremec TKO3550 for sale. Came out of my SPF Cobra in favor of a TKO600 (better gear ratios for a BB). The 3550 is in good condition. Worked flawlessly throughout. Currently resting in the TKO600 crate after the swap out two weeks ago.
The TKO600 cost me $1600. Will let the 3550 TKO go for $700 plus shipping. I'm in San Diego.

That is a good deal because the T-5 will not hold up behind your 400 HP (believe me I know). I orig built my Cobra w/ a small block and a T-5 and the trany let go at the most inopportune time.

I've got a 3550 too, still in my car though. Have a 600 waiting to put in behind a new motor. Necksnapper, who did the work for you and did you change your rear end gears also. I've got SPF #124 and I'm not crazy re the 3.73 rear end.

When Mike Lane installed a 3550 behind his new 408 he changed the rear gears from 3:73 to 3:27 ( 8.8 ). Drives great. Good off the line and great cruising ratio.

Transmissions
I did a complete drive train transplant in my garage... wheel bearings, rear gear change to 3.27, drive shaft, drive shaft mounted e-brake, transmission (TKO600), clutch, flywheel, engine.
The engine was custom designed and built by Keith Craft from raw castings. We started with a 460 base engine and stroked to 514, mated the bottom end to a TWM stack induction manifold. Makes 765HP at 7,000RPM, 700lbs TQ at 4,500RPM. Redline is an amazing 7800RPM for this 8.8L engine. Figured the 3550TKO transmission would not stand the stress. The TKO600RR is a beautiful upgrade... close ratios with a useable overdrive. First gear shift point is now 60MPH... perfect for a engine with this much HP & TQ.
This is one scary ride now. 0-60 times under 3sec with slicks. 1/8th mile in the 6 sec category.
The 3550TKO transmission that was removed worked flawlessly. Anybody out there want it?

NEKSNPR doesn't browse here very often. If he hasn't responded send me a PM and I'll walk over to his office smack him around for you.
