Default 2" air filter height 427 dual quad

I have a Cobra kit car with a vintage 427 motor. It has the original factory dual quad air cleaner on it. The Cobra has been upgraded to the Holley dual "quad" TBI fuel injection. The air filter element is 2" high x 9-3/4" wide x 20-3/4 long. I am having difficulty locating that height air filter element. Most of the air filter elements being sold are only 1-3/4" high. Any idea where this 2" high air filter came from? There is no part number or brand name on the current filter. Any idea where to purchase a 2" high air filter? A 1-3/4" high filter is too loose and does not seal tight. Any suggestions? Thanks, garmey@juno.com

The 1 3/4 is probably a K&N. The next size up is 3"; I know cause i just went through that horse and pony show and bought one and took it back. I couldn't find anything in between. Won't fit under the hood by about 1/4". My problem is not being able to draw enough air through the single 1 3/4" oval filter. I just bought two 9" circular filters and I'm going to machine out 9 inch holes in the top plate over each carb. This way I'll draw straight down into the carbs as well as through the sides of the oval filter. I don't understand why yours won't seal though. You have a base plate on the carbs (filter sits on top of it) and a top plate that sits on top of the filter. A brass stud comes out of the center of each of the carbs and you pull it down tight with a wing nut on each one. It wouldn't matter what the depth of the filter is. If there isn't enough thread on the studs; just change the length of the studs.
