Default Buying out of state Cobra and reg. in California without paperwork.

Hi guys, I have a few questions and was hoping some of you could share your knowledge. I’m looking to purchase a Cobra but the SB-100 process ( i live in California) has me a bit worried. There are a couple of Cobras out of state that I’m interested in. One of them is registered as a 65 Cobra in Az but does not have any of the original paperwork ( receipts, original build papers). Would I be able to purchase the car and run it through the SB-100 process without proof of build? Is there a reliable source I can call?. I was thinking of calling the DMV but afraid I may get an incorrect answer from someone that’s not familiar with the process. I really appreciate any help I can get. Thanks

My brother has ERA649 for sale, registered in California 2 months ago as 1966 Cobra. It is a beautiful car, there is a picture in my album.

CA car registered as a 1966 cobra? or SB-100? Please be clear on this... I have been told that a cobra registered as a 1966 or 1965 is worth a LOT more to buyers over sea...
