I never said I was selling mine, as I’m using them for my FFRs. But there are legal was of transferring, and trust me- Boyd, Foose and many other car builders are known to use this same process.
I have not used this process, and as the attorney said, “His advice is free and take it as you will.”
All I’m saying is, there are LEGAL ways to do it, without a TRANSFER.

Simon .
If you believe there is a legal way to do it without transfer (besides titling a car not your own in your name or your fathers first), then by all means post it here for everyone to see. (You say that Boyd has done it yet you must have missed when he was prosecuted by the state of California.) Otherwise, you now have more than just yourself involved and things could get sticky for a Californian in a NY institution of higher learning. In closing, while I do not know everything about the California Dept of Motor Vehicles, I do know what is fact and what is not. If you got an attorney to offer you "free advice", then you already know it's really not worth anything and most likely is not based in current case laws in California. I do suggest that you walk away from this one and chalk it up as a learning experience, instead of trying very hard to prove yourself right when in this case you are not. I'll await either an email response from Morgester, or perhaps a post of his own as he is still a semi active member of this forum. We can then all go from there.

Excaliber - Google "OPNYDR" and look at the profile on the FFR Forum.... seems he is spreading the same BS over there

Heres the REAL question: What if it isn't 100% BS? What IF Boyd and others have all ready 'exploited' the SB100 numbers given out THIS YEAR? Legal or not, it stinks to high heaven and I would want ANYONE exploiting SB100 numbers for COMMERCIAL purposes to be prosecuted to the max!
The 'REAL' SB100 numbers are issued to hardcore guys who show up their local DMV at 5 am to get one. Anything else is just a 'replica'.

pgermond ~ I completely understand and no offense taken. I guess I just like to hear both sides of the story and this just seemed to be one sided. And maybe for a reason??
Since I do not know anything about CA laws, I really do not feel that I should comment (but I did).......although I do find this to be an interesting debate regarding CA laws and would like to see it continue.
Over the years I know that there have been so called "Trolls" on this site that do nothing but cause conflict. One of my faults is that I always try to give someone the benefit of the doubt. And after the debate is over, I will finalize my opinion.
I guess that is what I am trying to do here.
Take care,

If you would like me to send you the complete standards on SB100 and SB1578, let me know. Or leave me a number so I can have someone in Sacramento give u a call to explain that you are absolutely and positively wrong.
Is your name Darren? I was in line Tuesday morning with a Darren who has a sequence number from 2006 that he did not use and getting another one for a kirkham and wanted to know how he could get the 2006 SB100 transfered to another vehicle. He has several other suspicious questions, too.

Guys - I'm checking out on this topic..... the ebay listing has been canceled, the law has been clearly stated - multiple times, and the fact is those who cheat get fined/jailed, i.e. Boyd & company, Titles Unlimited, and so on.

Yep, and a persistent one too. Most of them disappear with nary a whimper very quickly. This one hung on for awhile.

...yup.
OPNYDR's thread was zapped on FFCOBRA... and it ought to be, here as well.
I guess the best thing to say:
"...OK...move along, now... there's nuthin' to see here."

Like I said, "Remember, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck!"

I gotta tell ya...OPNYDR..
Starting a controversial thread as a newcomer...digging in hard to defend your position...arguing over facts presented by other members...
...and then deleting every single post of yours after the fact..
...is unacceptable and juvenile behavior.
I am going to close this thread, since it has no value now.
Tread carefully here should you decide to continue to use this Forum
