Any updates on the FLA house bills?
|
I am planning to use an early 60's block, and use it for an everyday driver. What does this mean to me? Willthe early block allow me to make it an everyday driver?
|
The bill is awaiting the Florida Governor's signature.

Any updates????????????

Earl,
I spoke to a young lady last week and she told me that no body voted against the bill. She told me that it better to sit back and waitfor July 1st to register the car as a 196x. Phil |
I visited the Florida Governor's web site, the House of Representatives' web site and the Senate web site. None of them indicate the bill was signed into law. Does anyone have definitive information about HB 545 / SB 124?
|
OK, Here is what I know. The bill passed both houses and was supposed to be sent to the governor. He has a certain number of days to sign it or veto it. If he does neither it goes into law automatically. I had been watching the calender of events which last stated it was to be sent to the governer. I had the site, with the day by day calender, bookmarked but IT came in yesterday and "updated" my computer and now I can't find that site again, thus the reason I asked.
Thanks, Earl |
Earl. Do a google search on Florida House of Representatives HB545. It brought me to a site showing the status of 545 and the associated bill. Both go into effect July 1 2007.

Here is the time line I was looking for........now the Senate sends it to the governor and he has 15 days to act once he receives it.....The July 1st date is a tenative date only at this time..........

My representative confirmed the bill passed both houses and went to the Governor. He has until June 19, 2007 to sign or veto the bill.
|
not to get off topic but why is it some cars when going for a title require inspection and others just need you to sign an affidavid stating the car is roadworthy
what gives? why the discrepences? will this bill change that I would like to title my car as a 65 with antique plates |
If it was built from a kit and has a manufacturer's MSO then it needs no inspection. If it was built from parts and pieces with no MSO then it needs an inspection. No, this bill will not change that.

Does this mean I could go resgister my car tomorrow as a 1965?
|
Goes into affect July 1st., you can then register it as a 65 Cobra Replica under the new statue.
Now, don't expect "ALL" DMV offices to be ready on the 1st as it may take them a few days to get procedures in place. |
Here it is.
