Rodney,
Great to hear that (fingers crossed) your SB100 nightmare may be coming to an end! This has to be one of the DMV's biggest SB100 cluster fuxx of all time. You should take the day off and wait by the mail box.

Doug, no need to take the day off to wait by the mailbox. I had them overnight it to my work/office. I confirmed and reconfirmed the address.

Rodney - Did the mailman deliver the goods yet?? As one of your 2008 Santa Clara "compadres", I'll be very happy to hear that this nightmare is over for you!
It looks like I'm going to get my car back in the next couple of weeks, and I'm hoping to visit the BAR sometime in March to finalize the registration process.

"Good things come to those who wait..." at least that was the moral from my titling nightmare. I'm sure your Certificate of Sequence will arrive shortly. Either way, please know that many of us are looking at your thread regularly for updates.

David, David, David ....... you'll have to come down here to the South and experience a slow BBQ .... you'll find out that it's one of the best things on earth. It might even be better than a SB#
RodKnock - it'll turn up.

I am sure you have some wonderful food down there! I'd love to try some. (I was born in the south and my mom is from there so I know southern cookin'--I have a real soft spot for pintos and ham with buttered corn bread.)
The problem here, however, is Rod Knock is the one on the spit!

Hi Rod,
I was #5 in line on Jan 2nd behind you. They finally gave me #052 after the mixup that you know about. I received the sequence cert the beginning of Feb. Looked at the cert in detail a week ago and found the driver license number listed was not mine, neither was the phone number. Went down to DMV yesterday and the supr made copies and notes and will send it to Sacramento. I asked her how your cert was coming and she said because of the address mistake it would arrive in 1-2 days. She also checked the driver license number on my cert and said it was not your number. The phone number was from someone completely different. Now I don't have a cert that I can use. The saga continues.

Hey, Don, guess what? I just got off the phone with the DMV manager and she mentioned your plight. She said you can't register/smog your car because your SB100 cert has the wrong driver's license #. And she's fighting with Sacramento because it involves changing the cert and supposedly they can't or don't want to make changes to the cert. Total bummer.
Here's the funny thing. Supposedly, the address is NOT on the SB100 cert, so they can reissue my cert without a problem, except.........................
Now as for me. NO DELIVERY TODAY! Why? The Golden State overnight package was sent out BEFORE they actually got my work address and my correct home address from the local DMV manager. The package was not caught in time and will be undelivered to the wrong address AGAIN!
Now, Sacramento has to wait for the package to return to them, HOPEFULLY, and then resend it out to my work address. So, it will be at least another couple to few days.
I must have a "KICK ME" sign on my back or the person next to me every where I go has a "I'm With Stupid" t-shirt pointing at me.

Please, I know it sounds like the DMV manager is blowing smoke up my "you know where."
I'm not sure if I have ever encountered something as frustrating as this experience. I probably have, but at the moment, this tops the list.
Don, I keep telling them to give my old 052 back (still have my paperwork with 052 on it), you know, the number you "stole" from me.
Only kidding. I would never do that, but on the other hand, I told them that 051 was available since Doug (Got The Bug) won't be using his since his car is in Nevada now. Doug, I'm joking.
The manager seems to think, sure, sure, sure, that I got 054, but she doesn't have "total recall."
"I'll keep the light on."

Keep the faith dude. Once you drive in a deserted canyon, all of this will be a distant memory.
