Who will be in line for SB100?
So who will be jumping through the SB100 hoops this time?
I'll be there bright and early.

I kinda wish I got to do it again. I met some really nice people in line like Doug and Don. Hopefully, the DMV and I would get it right the second time.
Scott, good luck, but I'm sure it's a slam dunk for you.

Rodney I hope so. I have all the paperwork ready to go. I wouldn't be unhappy if I was the only one in line.

As I have mentioned previously, I think the 2009 SB100 will see a smaller crowd. 2010 should be worse. I was sorta thinking of doing a 40, but have decided to wait until times are better.

Randy mentioned this when we went to lunch at Kirk's Burgers on Saturday.
Get those SB100 certs while you can and before some knucklhead politician with a wild hair up his/her rear decides to be a hero to the Sierra Club.
Santa Clara County told to clean its air (SJ Mercury News)
http://www.mercurynews.com/ci_11291346?nclick_check=1
"Confirming fears of local air quality experts, federal regulators said Monday that Santa Clara County's air is too polluted with unhealthy soot — and must be cleaned up.
The Environmental Protection Agency added the county, along with the rest of the Bay Area, onto its list of 46 metro areas that violate newly tightened standards for fine particles of pollution from wood-burning stoves, diesel trucks and other sources.
This means that the region has to come up with plans by 2012 on how to clean up the air — and implement them by 2014. If it fails to comply, the region could lose federal transportation funding."

So, I guess that there's only going to be two people in line for SB100 in the State of California?

Simply the fact that there are but a couple of threads alive about SB 100 on CC this year confirms your prognosis Rodney that there will be fewer folks in line and therefore less competition for those limited reservations. Maybe the 500 will last until one or two PM this year.....
Glad I'm over that.

Obviously, it will be more than two people, but sheesh, it's eerily quiet this year.
Makes me want to go out an buy a GT40 roller and get in line.

From the South Bay, I know of two people that will be in line to get their SB100. I've traded emails with a few other people who are looking to snag a cert this year, but it does seem pretty quiet.
With the amnesty window opening, a lot of other replica makes/models (i.e. hot rod crowd) may come out of the woodwork. We'll get a full report, but I bet you'll still see a good turn out with all of the certs being issued in the morning.

Here's to hoping it will be a quiet morning at the DMV and they can get us through in a somewhat efficient manner.

Scott, make sure you have a GPS tracking device attached to your paperwork so you know where it is at all times. Once it leaves your hands and goes behind the counter, turn it on. If anyone asks why you're beeping, just tell people it's your blood pressure monitor, which in a sense, it is.

I remember last year thinking well it's 3 in the morning I'd better run down to the DMV. Thought I'd be in the first two or three but I soon found out that the line had started the day before with RoknDad parked in his chair next to the door. I was seventh I think and we ended up with about 32-34 people in line. Nice group of people and I'm pretty sure everyone made it. Hope the weather is good for all this year.
