Don't know about casting costs. I've seen the rear knuckle fabricated out of flat steel though. Looks pretty good but could be more "original".
What I'd like to see cast up if anyone is asking, is a 4HU differential. It would be really nice to be able to buy that in aluminum and actually have it be affordable.

Click on the link in Mickmates #18 post above, then click on the running gear parts on the LHS of the page....second or third pic down...... .

Dont know what you consider affordable, but remember the guys who build patterns etc can have lots of hours in that alone, hard to amortise that sort of work out fairly on limited number runs, I have made my own patterns for my 9" IRS & now a T44 replica , would hate to get honest on the hours these have consumed, but I enjoy the challenge.

All the proper original type parts are avaliable, rear gear case , uprites ,f/r, control arms, brakes, etc.( I can supply you with everything) Remember, all that original stuff wasn't that great to begin with. by the time you spend the money and time to reproduce it all , you could have just used modern components, or bought the upgraded original looking stuff. no matter how "original" you think you;re making your car, it's still a new reproduced car, not one of the first , original vintage,1100

Some guys keep it original looking and make a tubular trans tunnel into a backbone heading in the VSE direction. The later FFR's do that also. The diffs are now available complete and have become a lot more affordable. One of the English members here was e-mailing me some nice pics of repros but he was paying royally for the parts I thought. I'll double check my supplier on those before I advertise his price for him.

I think I was sent the same pics you got. Nice guy too.
I have access to converted 9" diffs if I wanted to use it but I would rather have the 4HU. We'll see when the time comes.
