Cheap paint or appliance paint works great as it is an epoxy and wears best. These were delivered black, not sure what is was painted with.
Next comes dead pedal and accelerator pedal. Feels good to get on this project again....
Pedals back in and plate installed correctly with blind rivets etc....

The aluminum box in the top of the trunk is the gas tank:
The 289 Cobras had their gas tank located right behind the drivers seat and above the differential.

Jeff - You may want to think about tapping a hole in the top and bottom for a differential cooler. Even if you don't hook it up, you could put plugs in and hook one up at a later time.
