Newest found item, is it correct? Will be a great detail for the comp car.

Wow! I'm thinking my next project is going to have to be a 289 street.
Where did you get your seats Jeff?

Larry

Thanks for the kind words. The seats are 20+yr old Contemporary seats. They are made of a steel frame and are leather clad. Not sure if the early CCX seats were made in house or by a vendor. Either way they have the period look and make the ride much more comfortable. I am trying to make this whole build correct and period, so far I think I am on point.

ERA makes a great seat, not sure if they sell them w/o a car? Peter could tell you the answer to that.

Hope I answered your question.

Jeff

Thanks Jeff!
I'll check into it. I only need one seat for the passengers side but want an original looking seat.

I think you'll find the CCX seats Jeff has are copied from the 289 (that Peter owned first?). Anyhoo they are smaller than the 427 seats and quite a bit smaller than the modern big butt American seats we have now. I don't mind them being bigger but having too much under me puts my eyes level with the screen frame. Larry, lets talk about tube frame bladder bottom seats. That's the way to get the look, get low and stay comfy.

I have planned for Red as CSX2375 is currently.
Fran has 2375 in a blood red, Audi color 2007 I think. I am partial to Rangoon Red, 1965 color, and that may ultimately the color.

Thought about Hertz gold as well, that is more the long shot??
Order of preferance:
1) Rangoon Red
2) 07 Audi red
3) Hertz Gold

How will you fasten the aluminum flare extention? Am I mistaken in thinking the rear quarter is fiberglass?

Great photos and a fine project!

The flare and the body will use a bonding compound, 2 part, for the lamination. Rivets can lossen over time so they, I am told, are not the route to take.

I was given a this method by those who have done this before. The key is initial alignment as once set there is no getting them apart. Then of course some filler to smooth out the transition.
