Cobra restorers are about the only avaliable that I know of...used them to build my frame...seemed pretty accurate for what I needed...My gallery has pics of completed frame set up for a 351 and a T-5 with a jag rear.

I'm here but I don't know what a correct set of plans is worth ;-)

Cobra Restorers has a full set of plans.
At least they used to. Give them a try.

plans from Cobra Res

Hello CSX, I sent you a PM about the 427 chassis plans. I just finished building a 427 from the plans and do not need the prints anymore.

If I was gonna build another 427 I would buy a finished chassis from one of the vendors and save a lot of time and money. I would start with Acton Custom, Nick knows more than most about building a Cobra from scratch.

this is what it looks like ready for a alum body.

I did get 3 chassis built, and it took about 100hours to weld IF you have the laser cut brackets. I strongly recommend to buy one, even though it is fun to weld - but can also be frustrating. 100hours bear plenty of opportunity to get annoyed! ;-)

It takes much less hours without the birdcage. So it you plan to install a body which is sturdy enough to carry itself (the CSX bodies are not), you may consider to weld a chassis. Or, get a body with birdcage inside (Kirkham).

Yet, I urge you to get the brackets from Nick (mickmate).

One more $1mio advise: The rear gusset for the axle shaft (diameter) is too small for Jaguar universals. I increased such holes to the max - after everything was in. I learned a few new swearwords...

Cobra Chassis Plans

Hi
Im in New Zealand and am tring to build a cobra. I have sent an email to cobra restorers, but have had no reply. I wondered whether it was possible to get a copy of the plans you have. I am prepared to pay.
Otherwise do you know somewhere else to get some plans.
Cheers
Mark

You're not from NZ or you would have said "g'day", Cobra Restorers are better answering the phone than e-mail. They pop up on e-bay from time to time and there are one or two other formats floating around.

Jac Mac 06-08-2011 08:53 PM

Mark. Are you going to build a coil spring or leaf spring car, or just want a box section/kit car type chassis?

Hi Mark,

Did you manage to get hold of a set of plans for an AC Cobra?

Dominik 05-20-2016 11:58 PM

Interesting to see a few single digit posters, never coming back.
If you intend to build a Cobra from scratch I would expect you guys to post more.

Or y'all bought chassis! ;)

Would love a set of original plans to blow up and hang on the shed wall......would look super cool.

Hello,
I just joined the forum.
My name is Karan Nawab, I am from India. I am planning to build a Shelby Cobra from scratch. I would request you all to guide me through the chassis plans and specification. It would be great if you could supply me with a Chassis Plan to start with. Thanking you all.

Hi Karen.
I don't think anyone will want to give away their drawings. And even less a set of CAD files for laser cutting.

Dominik 02-23-2018 12:21 AM

I can sell the mold I took from a Contemporary. You can make a body from it and use it as a buck to fabricate aluminium bodies.

Parts are in South Africa.

I also have a chassis.

chuckcobra 03-01-2018 09:48 AM

I now offer complete 427 chassis drawings (as well as drawings for the 289 Cobra and Daytona Coupe). Send me an email or check out the details on my website which has been revised and located at the following:
