Meanwhile I wait for the new motor the body will be prepared for the last take off.
It is just too cool the resin of the fiberglass does not stick to the duct-tape. The front flairs were the templets for the rear. Tape and first base of resin and micro balloon mix.

One layer fiberglass

After trimming, securing with clecos for final cut. Preparing resin and riveting the flairs on the body. One night cure.

I'm working on the next steps right now - stay tuned

After curing the first bond, it was time to grind the old lip off and smooth it out.
Using Baby powder keeps the fibers from touching the skin and keep you "itch free".
More layer of fiber glass - inside and out.
The flares match the front in shape and distance to the tire.

After I put everything new in this project, the decision was made to get a new engine as well.
Lightened Flywheel
Speck 3 clutch.
Build up the accessories.
Head bandages.
Ready for the final drop-in.

I started the engine in my Spyder for the first time this morning. It was loud at 5:30am w/ open headers.

I'm looking forward to seeing you and your progress at Thanksgiving.

When I got that first, I was curios too. 12 lbs 8oz on the scale.

Update, end of November,

steering rack complete done.
Brake proportion valve.
Got finally some of these tops. (if some one need some I have plenty spares)

Bracket for the remote oil filter.
Setup for MAF bracket location - weld to the frame.
Bracket for the accelerator pedal.

Pedal installed.
Accelerator cable top-
and bottom

Now, the oil. Starts with the Hydro Boost.

The Hydro Boost and remote oil filter/oil cooler lines are completed.
Front view, slowly it's getting busy.

Had to make some modifications to the Summit heater.
All that for wife's warm legs...

Cable access for the engine harness.
Fire wall prep for insulation.

Center top panel insulated two layer of 3/8. All the panels will get the same treatment.
Heater installed with manual cable valve.

Main wiring harness after trim down and loosing about 20 pounds.
Everything related to the GEM is gone.
Very important!

Oil pressure and oil temp setup.
Oil filter final shot.
Well, so far so good on the electrical - if I have the same face expression after the weekend (try to finish the wiring) then you call me a very, very happy camper....
