…no, the upper front A-Arms are the ones from Factory Five. Parts like that I try to balance the economy. With other words if I have to spend too much time to make that part and someone else is setup and can make it less costly – I buy it.

Little things make life pleasurable --- or not so...

The whole week I tried to get a small part of the IRS spindle. The dust shield or bellow over/on the spherical bearing.
Nobody carries them and Ford wants you to buy the whole spindle - $635 Maximum Motorsports offers a kit for $379 plus shipping.
Well, my bearings are good and I came up with this solution.
Shrink hose...it keeps the grease in and the dust out.

There are two layers one for the inner and one for the outer ring. That keeps the whole thing flexible and does not slip off.

Speaking of grease here is the assembly sequence of the front...

Pete,
It's been a while since your last update. How's your progress, or is it just too hot to get anything done?

We are middle of the move of the shops. The welding shop is up and running. The machine shop is half way done, still machines to power up and moving raw materials...

and of course making Brats foe my guys (not me in the picture)

Pretty soon I will post updates on the 289 build.

Howdy Pete,

Looks like you've been busy, both on your Cobra and at work.

The shortened (4 in.) half shafts are installed and the boots are sealed, but not before a good load of grease.

These are the spacers for the shock mounts, cut, painted and installed.

The rear axle assembly is now complete. The next step will be the front, but between the two I will paint the tires

Howdy Pete,

The Wife and I spent a week in Cancun back in July. Nothing like relaxing with an adult beverage on the beach.

I currently working on the parking brake on my Spyder.

Alright here we go...

Redone PS rack installed, greased and ready for the lines. UPR bumpsteer kit.

Trunk inlay for the spare tire. like the original made out of fiberglass. For one part no need to make a permanent mold, duck tape is your friend.

Test fit in the trunk.

Upper cut out, molded and fabricated. Both the inlay and the cutout will be later bonded.

Pedal box installed, works flawless. My Son-in law (6'4") has no problem to operate the pedals...means not he can drive that baby. First idea about the gas pedal - later more on that.

This will be the ride height, I like how that looks. Now you can see her new home. The new shop has a "spare" 24x19 foot room, no more up and down from the pallet rack. A/C heat, 110v, 220v, 440v, compressed air 140psi --- just below my office...

stay tuned for the next update...

Default A Special Thanks!

Howdy Everybody,

I'll like to send Pete a special thanks for allowing my Wife and I to see his car.

We got to meet Pete on Sunday and he's a really great guy!

For anyone in the Dallas area you owe it to yourself to meet Pete and check out his scratch built Cobra.

Here's a pic of myself sitting in Pete's Cobra.

Once again...... Thanks Pete!

I'm looking forward to seeing you again Thanksgiving weekend and checking out your latest progress.

Paul
