Another Canadian scratch built
Hi, I've been told by another participant here to post in this section.
I'm starting a new project of scratchbuilding a 289 slabside.
I'm at the very beginning of collecting parts for now.
I want to build it as close as I can to an original one.
It will be built on a original type Tojeiro frame from the drawing of Chuck Lindquist.
I've had a lot on thinking about the body and I'm now thinking it will be a Mr Bruce fiberglass body with some alloy parts like hood and doors. Maybe the trunk too.
It will be dark green metalic with black interior.
Silver painted wheels.
The engine will be the most basic 289 hipo. With cast iron intake and small steel valve covers.
I have a 1964 block to start with.
My transmission is a 5 speed T5 and the rear end a Ford 8.8 IRS from a Explorer.
Like most scratchbuilt project this is going to be a slow process.
I will post updates as they come but don't expect too many for a while.
I hope this will entertain some.
