Fasterpatrick, for those of us who buy cars already built, or those of us who buy the kits and put part a on part b from the insturctions....this site is incredible. We never fullly appreciate how much work goes into making an original or even designing those mass production kits. Your work is amazing and I am sure those posting on this tread have similar tales to tell. I am enjoying following your build and hope to eventually see the finished labor of love on the road.

Well record heat, no air in the shop and working for a living slowed me down a bit but I managed to get these done. This is my best attempt at a working front end. Thowing all information into a pot (my head) and adding heat and presure and this is what came out.

When this is finished I'm going to have a notebook burning party. Any group of words that can cause relatively normal heads to spin like this stuff can should be illegal.

Aah the ever burning question LOL. Patrick that looks great. I see the inner tie rod is on a nice straight line between the upper and lower a-arm pivots. I know you have to get round a coilover do you think the bent legs are as strong as a curved tube on the upper a-arm? Just something to think about. Keep up the good work!

Hey Patrick, That is great, the rear suspension looks very good. When you have the front complete. Will that give you a steering & rolling chassis?

Well, busy people have limited time. And kids don't help either, enough said. I have some stuff to show you. Take a look tell me what you think. These are pre debuging so there are some small things left to fix.

OH Yea! there is always one flaming hoop to jump through.

Now I should go, try to clean up, fix stuff, make umteen gussetts, and get ready to weld this all solid.

Looks good...what front QA shocks did you finally decide on?

Front shocks are 5855b's with #450 springs will move through 98%of their travel from full droop to just before bottoming, With bumpstops should work just great. Patrick

That's a flaming river hoop but you got through it! When you weld skip around a lot and go for the pieces that are touching and opposite each other. The gaps you have will pull like crazy if you blaze right into them. You don't want to distort all that nice work.

metal will distort when welded, really.(just kidding)

Ya took care to do just that, not the first time I've stumbled down that trail. Wouldn't want to micro measure it now, heard some realy big bangs from tacks breaking loose but all looks to have came out well.

The welding took well over seven hours, welder was acting finicky, but I won. Cleanup took another four. There are lots of new photos in my gallery.

I'm putting it all together right know. Patrick

Well, I've got it all together and she did move around a bit, but nothing that shimming at final four wheel alinement can't cure, I'm realy happy with what I've got.

There is one issue to deal with but I'm not talking.

Now to drop the body on and start headscratchin, look for a block and tranny for mockup and general stuff like that. Well I've got to get some sleep, kids start school tomarrow.

Patrick inspiring progress for sure, that looks great! Are you going to gusset or brace that rear end cage to the main tubes some more or are those details like seats going to be in the way of that?

Ya, mick some things you just have to work around seats, driveshaft, transmissions, and bell housings. Just hope I don't run out of room for all of it. Will tuck the tunnel/backbone as tight to the drive line as possible. the X-brace crossmember will be removable so tranny can be removed from under the car with bellhousing intact. so this has only begun to get interesting. Do you still have the Jig for the frame?
If so, would it be possible to borrow it at some point

Just let me know when and come and get it. can help with plans as well. You wouldn't have a spare 302 or 4.6 with a five speed laying around.Patrick

Here mick, Some body on photos. Had to make struts so the suspension would be at ride height, then drape the body at the proper height.

Sorry there will never be the VROOM-VROOM photo I'll wait till there is a seat in the car for that.
