Nice! The last 2 are great. That's really starting to show some promise. Do you want to borrow a seat ;-) ?

turbotadd 09-11-2006 06:05 AM

Patrick-
I will probe my resources on the motor/trans and see what I can come up with. Shoot me a PM with your phone #.
Also, where abouts in Minnesota are you, I noticed that you had a Trojes garbage can, somewhere in the twin cities?
My home town is Afton, and when I'm not at school, I'm usually in Eagan.
Thanks a bunch!
Tadd

WOW! Well done and coming along nicely! :D

Man that thing is all ready 'hairy'.

mickmate 10-08-2006 06:40 PM

Hi Pat exciting score! I just noticed the rear wheel is pushed well forward in the rear arch................PERFECT! It's exactly where you want it. That's the stuff that makes these buggies sit right.

elgecko 10-08-2006 06:52 PM

That fur outlined body is a PLUS:). Being a fiberglass man I can appreciate a fine body. Looks like yours is really smooth and wave-free...........the body of the Cobra....not "yours" personally:eek:
I love the smell of resin in the morning.
I sure wished my garage was that big and clean.
Dave

fastraxsg 10-08-2006 08:02 PM

Another piece of the puzzle on hand, what are your plans for the induction? Something exotic? ah, decisions, decisions....

fasterpatrick 10-08-2006 08:07 PM

Enough cracks about the untrimmed body. The garage just appears to be clean I shove everything out of frame when I take pics, usually I'm tripping over stuff and trying to find somewhere to work. But hey thats what we do makes it more interesting that way. Patrick

elgecko 10-08-2006 08:13 PM

Whatever you do ........don't use the word "cracks" when referring to fiberglass body.
Enjoy watching your build. Keep it up.
I need to update my gallery. Mine ventured out into the sunlight today......... with a little push from the wife and me:)

This engine looks great ... rsrsrsrsrss

What transmission is this ?
T5?

Bye!

fasterpatrick 10-09-2006 07:10 PM

Engine/ 93 lincoln mark VIII 4.6L 32 valve DOHC
Trans / 03 mustang mach-1 T-3650 5spd

Greasing up the shoe horn, and breaking out the large hammer, ya I'll make it fit. Patrick

hssss 10-09-2006 08:17 PM

This looks like a real good excuse to slightly change to replicating the flip frount Cobra.

Dave

Or the rods in the 4.6

fasterpatrick 10-15-2006 08:01 PM

Engine wedged in

:D Well we have engine mounted in frame. Position looks good, thanks to some new friends on the ffr site. They got me the dimension for the mounts for the 4.6L from front axle centerline, and then I moved them 1" forward, for maybe a little more space in the footbox. The Lincoln mounts made for an easy fab, they are parallel with the frame so only had to adjust for offset on one plane.

Some things got a little tight, like the starter and the oil filter
http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...777_Small_.JPG
http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...780_Small_.JPG
Yes I smashed the oil filter during positioning, it will come off don't worry.
lots more pics in gallery. Patrick

elgecko 10-15-2006 08:08 PM

Can you go with a remote oil filter setup???
Dave

fasterpatrick 10-15-2006 08:12 PM

Ya I'm looking into that. The 4.6l in my previous truck had remote setup from factory might be a strait up bolt on.

Dominik 10-17-2006 11:21 AM

main tub

nice!

what is your plan for the tub?

dominik

mickmate 10-17-2006 03:34 PM

The mini starters are also indexable in a lot of applications. That's plenty of room now, looking good!

fasterpatrick 10-17-2006 05:47 PM

Dom,
Main tub will be aluminum over bird cage like original or FFR but different. Working on bird cage now. only thing for sure is that the tunnel/backbone will be completely removable so trany can be removed through the cockpit. Ya It sounds crazy but thats just the way I am,Different. Patrick
