Look like you are getting there! How much more bodywork is left to do?

Hi
Please take a look to attached pictures
since, i'm very happy with door to body gap of 4mm (5/32")
and
large (approx. 80 degrees) opening angle of the door
peace

Progress
My scaled Cobra is in the parts gathering stage still.
It has acquired a name though, from the sound of thunder from the engine: BRUTUS
I now have almost all the parts and can start designing the frame as soon as I finish the RV rebuild.
I'm building cabinets now and close to the end.
I have decided to build a copy of CSX2196, the "Flip Top" car that is coming up for auction January 22, 2010 at RM auctions:
http://www.rmauctions.com/FeatureCar...Z10&CarID=r202
I have been leaning towards the 289 body style for some time but the pictures of the Flip Top decided it for me.
The low wind screen, both ends opening up and even the fold down door make it unique.
For ease of design I have decided on a simple 90% scale instead of 8/9ths.
Do you still have the cut patterns for the body sections (mold, or buck) frames for your car? May I purchase a set?

great to hear that your "Brutus" is moving forward
it would be good if you open new thread about your project
as you know very well flip-top has got unique body shape
but, I'll do my best
if you tell me critical dimensions of "Brutus":
front&rear track width
wheelbase
front & rear tire diameter & width
location of engine & transaxle
overall dimensions of engine & transaxle for packaging
regards
Ozgur

not much bodywork left
most difficult part is to say "it's done and ready for paint"

Hyde
i'm also like this picture
accoding to my records, i've used 142 litres (37.5 US gallons) of fuel
so, it's approx 1000 kilometes (625 miles) since May 2009
not so bad for a car for this finishing level
regards
ozgur
ps:
i know i'm a very boring mechanical engineer
because of all this records and calculations

Being trained as an engineer myself, I thought boring was a requirement for engineers. Methodical + precise + thorough = competent & boring.
