she drives great on the road, but little heavy on the scale with 1300 kg (2866 lb.)

That sounds very interesting! 2800 isn't bad for a street car. Mine weighed in at about 2600 with me, a spare tire & a few tools.

custom lock works well
i've installed 4 steel ropes between lid & body as limiter
stainless steel hinges are also very strong
maybe I've add some bungee cords
