Lets build a Dragon Snake
I got a leftover Slab body and pile of parts laying around. Thinkin' about building a DragonSnake. Anybody want to see how it's done?
|
With the aluminium frame?
mr bruce, With John C's aluminium frame? You will be lucky if the car weight is 2,000lbs. The way the dragons handle with any of the bodies mounted on the chassic, It will be one fast handling, light weight machine. I wish I could put my cobra on a 500lb weight loss.:o%/:rolleyes: Alright 25 lbs from the driver, 450 from the car. The other thing is you can go from body to body in 1 hour and have it all. A dragon, cobra, roadster, I am afraid to find out what that crazy guy is going to build next.**)John gets way too much clean air up in the mountains.;):):LOL::LOL: Rick L

Dwight,
The white one belongs to Rich A. a Club Cranky member, it has a 408 I believe with twin turbos, makes between 800 and 1100 HPO depending on the boost. It is a glass CSX7000 car. |
Is the Snake painted? Track opens in 29 days...
|
I think that Billy from HRE put that white beast together. What an awesome car!
|
I love the Dragon Snakes too. I haven't tried to build a dragon snake replica but I had to build myself a set of Dragon Snake pipes. I've got a drag strip only a couple of miles from my house so I'm hoping to give it a run in the next few months.

Three of the cars pictured are true Dragonsnakes, the yellow and blue 289's, and the red 427. The purple Costilow and Larson car (also known as "The Fuchsia One" when raced by Ed Hedrick), was converted from a road car. None of the six Dragonsnakes built had wire wheels. You've probably visited the www.shelbyford.com web site. Nothing but Dragonsnakes, with detailed info about all six cars. Last week I put up another site with the Mecum Sprint Classic auction story, where I sold "Jezebel Blue," CSX2019. See www.printshopmakeover.com and click on the Cobra picture. BTW, The Fuchsia One was sold by Bruce Larson on January 27, 2007 for $1,350,000. |
