Any experience with Auburn LS Carriers?
Got a Jag rear that was supposed to be a limited slip unit but wasn't. I'm tired of trying to find a Power Lock Jag rear for a reasonable price and don't really want to use 40 year old parts in the rear anyway.
The 84 XJ6 rear I got is in pretty good shape and the price was very good, so I am thinking of just buying an Auburn Dana 44 Locking carrier. I also found a set of used Dana 44 3:54 ring and pinion for a song so I have the important parts lined up.
Does anyone have any experience with the Auburn set ups? Do I need any other parts to install it besides what the standard Dana 44 Master rebuild kit will provide? Any problems with the Auburn I should know before I plunk down my money?
Also, what is the best reference book for rebuilding the Jag Rear? I'ts been quite awhile and I don't want to make a stupid mistake (again).....
Thanks,
Bob
