kurtmart,,,, When it comes to anything Cobra, original or replica, I've learned to not speak in absolute terms. Soooo, In my experience Shelby buys or bought, "CSX" frames with alumnium bodies from Kirkham. I'm not saying Kirkham has not furnished rollers, David could answer that question. I hate to have to choose my statments so carefully..Ron

Hi Ron,

I didn't say Kirkham supplied "all" rollers Shelby. Just the good ones.

Where in Oregon are you? I've been thinking of moving to Bend.

Kurt,,, I assumed thats what you ment, I didn't want someone to think Kirkham shipped frames to Shelby, or who knows, maybe they do?

I'm in Bakersfield now, In a few weeks I'll be going back to Creswell, 8 miles south of Eugene. I have spent some time in Bend, cold winters.....Ron ... I just noticed your KMP# is 2 before my FIA car.

I ordered my car at the same time as a buddy ordered his S/C. His sequence number was in the 400s vs my street car #216. Bumped into the Kirkham guys at the last Reno meet and asked about the discrepancy, they told my my car was ordered by someone but never delivered so it sat waiting for someone finally to order a street car. Voila moi.

Yeah, it's the winters that keep me in LA. Clear and 72 today.

Have any current CSX owners on the Board added the drive train and engine on their own or have the majority contracted the job to CSX referred specialists?

Thanks,

I installed the drivetrain in my CSX with no problems.

Let me ask a question. Would you feel comfortable pulling and replacing an engine in a car? If so, there's nothing special about dropping an engine/tranny into a Cobra.

The others are right - ask a dealer about a "Runner Kit". Give Shelby dealer George Anderson at Gessford Machine in Nebraska a call. He's a great guy, and a straight shooter.

Here's a pic - all you need is a few good friends......
