Here's one of the old shocks - a Dynamic Suspension unit made in England and branded with Shelby's name. There's not much info on these that I could find, although after speaking to the factory in the UK, they directed me to a supplier in the US who could rebuild them.
Unfortunately for us, the Penske upgrade made better sense. Installation required fabricating a bushing for the rear lower control arms, as Penske uses a 1/2" mount top and bottom, whereas Dynamic chose to use a 5/8 lower mount.
There's also a small clearance notch required for the Penske charging valve.
We still have the full set of Dynamic shocks and matching Hyperco springs if anyone wants to have a go at rebuilding them.

new gauges courtesy of Nisonger Instruments...
Luckily we ordered these a while ago - the fuel pressure gauge, for example, is apparently on "world-wide backorder" according to several sources. Grab 'em while you can!

still missing a file full of images but will be back with more soon. The dash and electrical are going together, seats installed and paint correction and engine installation are coming next. Hopefully she'll be ready for test-runs in early september!

I love seeing this thread updated too. You are lucking out big time with so much of the original parts as I thought and hoped you would. How much motivation did you get from the thread? I'm thinking about starting one on mine just to feel motivated to do something and update.

Thanks guys! Its great motivation - both from knowing there are people interested in seeing what's going on and encouraging me, and knowing that if I cut a corner you guys will bust my butt
Its been tough keeping up though, as you can see.
As of today, motor is back together. Re-installed the inner springs after break in, addressed a windage tray leak (man those things are a pain!), did the first oil change, and the carb will be back tomorrow.
Silly me grabbed the wrong metering block gasket and fuel was leaking out of the accelerator pump passage into the main body. And I was looking right at it too...
We'll put about an hour more run time on it, recheck everything and start installing the motor next week.

Probably a small set of needle nosed pliers and a flat blade screwdriver and a lot of time focused on the radiator!
Been there, done that. It ain't fun.

Mickmate, which direction do you recommend routing the tubing from the oil tank to pan? Its rated for 160 degrees, so I'm trying to keep it away from headers.
Tucking it beside the hood opening, and down behind the alternator takes it close to the front header tube and leaves the hose kind of out in the open.
It would be well hidden tucked alongside the passenger footbox, down along the side of the block, but that kinda kinks the hose where it connects to the canister...

I just made a nifty little bracket to hold that hose on the top of the cowl brace tube that keeps it away from the headers. I'm glad you reminded me I was gonna make a little batch of them as Gary also wanted one. Of course I don't have a picture cos I need one. You could run out and then down then forward. I have seen them run under the headers alongside the block but that typically gives a low spot in the hose that holds oil. Of course it runs through when it gets full enough. They don't look too bad aluminum strapped to the cowl brace tube.
