Snakehunter is already counting his paper profits.
Nice work, BTW. Have enjoyed this thread.

No, I'm not that optimistic!
I posted it because I was comparing some of the detail items to other builds.
The lucas headlights and wiring harness tags, for example - didn't a lot of that stuff get "lost in translation" at some point as the cars became more Shelby than AC? (as US content increased, I mean)
Its interesting to see all the variations of "1965 correct"...Maybe we should write judging standards for continuation cars

wiring
connecting everything under the dash this week. Looks like a few of my pictures aren't as clear as I'd hoped. Does anyone have details of the small 2 fuse block (4fj) and the fuel pump relay?
Also, the new Nisonger tach has a multiple wire plug instead of 3 prong connection on the back, and the new turn signal switch has just the opposite - space connections instead of the multi-plug that the original was wired with...
Woo-hoo!

got the wiring info from nisonger...nice folks. Our instructions were missing from the box, so they provided the notes, despite the fact they're recovering from 2 ft of water from the recent floods.
"Its could be worse, a few years ago we had 4 feet of water in here!"

got the trans in, shifter and driveshaft. Dash is wired but I've got an odd run-on situation - engine still cranks when key is returned to run position. Haven't traced it down yet.
I love wiring...

got the wiring/starting issue sorted...After retracing the whole harness and verifying everything was in its place, it came to mind to check the ignition switch to verify power was going in and coming out properly.
Power in - check...
Power out - only on start. Yet when key is returned to run it retains 12v to start and run
Took the switch apart and the triangular contact inside was mis-clocked. Reassembled and it works like a charm.
That was a brand new switch too!

First test drive today
Holy cow, these things are street legal?!
That's the most fun I've had in a while.
Still some more adjustments to make, plus detailing. But we're in the home stretch!

You aren't kidding!
I got about three trips around the block before stopping to check a few things. Maybe this week it will see some more road time. Hope the neighbors don't mind...

Are you still building this car or is it for sale now? Oddly, i just saw another one, that looks identical for sale on the internet that said it was in a flood as well. I think its number was around forty one seventy something though.

Actually I'm just about done with the car but its not advertised anywhere. There was another flood Cobra I heard about, but not sure what the serial number or location is. One of the guys at Shelby mentioned it when I called about parts awhile back.
I'll add some more pics this week - detailing is finished but the weather has been miserably wet and cold, so we haven't put any more drive time on her yet. Plus I keep finding little details to attend to - polishing, touchup, rechecking fasteners etc.

Completion photos!
Its seems to have taken forever but we've got a finished car on our hands. Here's a few parking lot shots. Thank you for all the help and encouragement!

snakehunter - Been luring in the shadows. Very much enjoyed your thread. I would have to say very nice work. I'm betting it's an animal! What are the plans, keep it, sell it or drive it?

Thanks guys!
Actually we have our eye on something else, and I have another couple projects already at hand so this one will be going up for sale soon.
This was a really rewarding build...er, rebuild!
Working on getting a WATERSNK license plate before it leaves though
