One thing about this listing really caught my eye. It says it was sold in 1970 to Curtis Jackson in 1970. It says Curtis lived in Oxford, Georgia.
I was a student at Oxford College of Emory University - in Oxford Georgia. I remember that the Business Manager of the school's name was AW Jackson. I saw a Cobra on campus and was told that it belonged to AW Jackson's son. I was very envious. I wanted a car just like that. I am guessing that this is the car.
The only discrepancy I see is that I graduated from Oxford College of Emory University in 1969, one year earlier than the description in the ad says Jackson bought it. I left to enter Emory College of Emory University in Atlanta. Maybe they are off a year or two. I don't know.

I haven't been over to Canepa for a couple of months, so I'll have to go check it out. Always something new to drool over when I visit.

Some of the things I did way back then may have been a year or two away from what my memory says. Anyone can make a mistake when it comes to forty years.

When I look at that car I thank ERA for my car being so realistic looking.

Nice car.
Is it me or is the down-bar from the back of the hoop more vertical than others I have seen?

I particularly like the indoor-outdoor carpet on the inside of the doors. I can't see much (actually almost nothing) that appears to be original about this particular car. I would take a Kirkham, a new Shelby or an ERA over this car any day.

The rear roll bar brace is way too far forward where it goes through the body, if you look at the (street car) trunk shot you'll also see it's bent. Dump tubes are too circular, exhaust cutoff isn't correct. Looks also to have rear quickjacks on the front and a few other obvious faux pas'. I agree some of the SCising is pretty sacriligiously done but there's nothing there I couldn't/wouldn't fix. I must say I absolutely love that color.

Again, the car looks awesome if you like that look/style but it is a real shame with the modifications that have been done for me personally. Not passing judgement on the car as I'd love to own a sixties vintage CSX.

I met Curtis Jackson in 1970. My wife, who is from Covington, GA adjacent to Oxford, actually went to high school with him. While I recall that he had an Alladin's cave of Cobra bits and pieces at the time, I don't recall seeing a complete 427, or any Cobra for that matter in his "warehouse". He did claim to own a 427 competition car, but that it was "in Europe".
I've seen him a couple of times since then, most recently to look over a pile of 289 Cobra bits that he was trying to sell to a friend of mine for $40k. He is one of the true characters of Cobradom.

Is that the current color offered buy Shelby on his new CSX cars? I was told he has been keeping his dark blue color code under lock & key so as to not have it copied. He will paint any CSX that color though but only at his shop. Just wonder if that's the color.

A little while back some pranksters stole a zebra from a man who owned one in Oxford and led him up the stairs of Seney Hall, the administration building at Oxford College of Emory University. The prank got national publicity. A web search shows the owner of the zebra was Curtis Jackson. Interesting "character"!!

Jim, were the hubs on the 427 cars splined? Was it just street cars? I assume 3188 had spline hubs as well? Thanks.

Looks like a 16-inch to me. Those were the originals, but they're very hard to come by (not to mention expensive) these days. I lust for one but not $450 worth when I have a nearly perfect 15".
I agree, though, looking at the lines and curves on this one makes me bow towards ERA's shop.
