Thinking about buying an aluminum CSX4000
Hi
What are used aluminum csx 4000 series cars going for these days? Anyone have any recent auction results or sales comps? What should I keep in mind while looking for one? Are there big differences between early 4000 series cars and later ones?
thanks

I don't know if this alloy CSX is still for sale, but I don't remember seeing another alloy CSX as inexpensive as this:
http://www.gasholes.com/smf/index.php?topic=15410.0
I've also read here that the early CSX's, built in Las Vegas, are much better than the newer CSX's, but those differences to the best of my knowledge has not been clearly defined. or may have been only related to the fiberglass CSX's.
A very good time to buy one. Good luck.

To me that isnt a bad price for alum csx and an extra engine. Not that I could afford it but as opposed to a new one. Were the first 40 CSX cars built back then with this one built in vegas or south africa?

I would probably say the low miles come from the speedo cable hanging down from the dash.........just a guess though............

On a separate thread, I listed one maybe two alloy CSX 4000's that are on eBay right now.
BTW, Michael Sheehan, who's selling CSX 4204, is one of the country's foremost Ferrari experts and he also writes a story in each monthly edition of Keith Martin's Sports Car Market magazine.
I love black Cobras. That's really nice.

4204 is a sweet car, FYI that's the trip meter reset cable hanging below the dash just like a 60's car.

Well you could recover a few buck for that aluminim engine as scrap metal down at the local bone yard. What is aluminum going for a pound these days anyway? Then drop in that "real" 427 and by golly you got yourself a decent ride.
