I was told the aluminum bodied 50ths are also being built by HiTech. They already build the aluminum CSX9000 Daytona Coupes so they have the technology. I also believe they are the old style rolled aluminum ala the CSX1000s. When I was considering a Coupe over the Ford GT Lance offered me a in-process but canceled by the original buyer Coupe and the pictures looked awesome.

A container or so of leaf-spring KMPs were shipped from Poland to S. Africa.

So it's a little of both. Ah, made in South Africa from components from Poland . Makes me wonder if the 9000s are similar although they implied they made it.
I wonder if this arrangement isn't similar to the Shelby/HiTech arrangement. The bodies above are not made by Kirkham. They are built by the same manufacturer that makes the Kirkham bodies, but they are made to different specs.

Taking nothing away from the fine work done by HiTech/SA.
The body/frames are bare bones... quite a bit must be done to make them into cars.

Agree 1000%. Those need a lot of loving labor to finish them. I wonder how many hours it takes to actually finish one.

Not sure I understand this: "...They are built by the same manufacturer that makes the Kirkham bodies,"
Kirkham makes the Kirkham bodies.

The aluminium 289 and 427 bodies are bought from Kirkham. Shipped directly to South Afrca where everything else, which gets manufactured in house, is fitted. The ally 9000 series done in England and then shipped to South Africa.
The diffs are also from Kirkham. Although Hi tech have the means to do the diffs , It was felt that a buy out of both the diff and body would sweeten the deal as well be far more beneficial and cost effecient to both parties. Especially under the present economic situation.
You are right in saying a whole lot of love has to be put into an ally body Tony.
Hope that ends the speculation.

So Kirkham owns the plant in Poland, in other words their pay checks come from Kirkham? That was not my understanding - that the manufcturing facility continued to build components other thank Cobras. If so more power to them.

Well, you were absolutely wrong in your understanding. The story has been told many times here and in the WSJ about how David went to Poland and got the government to help him open up the factory.
It has always been that way...assolutely no room for any other perception.
What was the source of the "understanding" that you had? I'm always on the hunt in finding out who the "expert" bullsh!tters are.

One of the reasons I purchased a Kirkham was that the Kirkham was produced and sold entirely by Kirkham.

In one thread...just one, we've had folks talking about "matching numbers" for replicas just because the engine was built during the same time period as they were for the originals, which the replicas will never be. In the automotive world, that is NOT what matching numbers means, and care should be taken to speak clearly when describing something so as not to mislead anyone, especially when a car is being built to be sold...including putting tags on the mfg's plate.
Hell, my CSX arruminum non-side oiling FE was built by the Shelby folks while my Kirkham was being built in Poland...so I hereby declare I have a Cobra with matching numbers.
Then we have folks just passing on what they think when someone tells them the aluminum CSXs are built in South Africa rather than just being sourced in Poland...only to find out otherwise by photographic proof. Don't care how much is done to the delivered bodies afterwards...the biggest most visible part of the damn car came from Kirkham.
...and then we have the mysterious Polish arruminum Cobra factory.
All in one thread.
But hey, folks just keep passing on bullsh!t without every asking or trying to find out what the truth is.

Old data from a car show years ago while looking at all of the choices. Kirkham being aluminum, and aluminum not being Colorado Hail Friendly(1) fell off my roadmap early so I'm not a Kirkham historian. Ownership of the factory was never mentioned. So be it.
When asked about the origin of the Al. Coupe Lance himself told me it was SA, he never disclosed it was sourced from anyone other than his own ship.
You may be the keeper of facts, and thanks for the clarification, but nothing will prevent misinformation from being received or passed on. This has helped scrub a lot of incorrect facts.
And now back to the original CSX8000 topic.
(1) Some disagree with the assertion that hail and aluminum get along. I'll disagree having hail dents in all of my vehicles except the (former) Cobra [carbon fiber, but got golf ball sized hail on it] and the FGT [some aluminum but will be garaged during suspicious weather].

Nothing in my post refers to the origin of the coupe, so nothing about the coupe should be interpreted from my post.
I am not a keeper of facts...I simply pay attention.
I may not stamp out bullsh!t, but I will stomp on it everytime.

Just to clear this up...any of the (4000/6000/7000/8000 Aluminum) CSX's that are sold to the public, are purchased through Shelby Distribution...I just wanted to make that clear..."joe smith" off the street cannot called Kirkham and say they want an aluminum CSX car (289 or 427 Body Style)
I just wanted to throw that out there...there are many people out there are not "club cobra" hourly visitors...so...lets also speak to the "general" population.
Thank you.
