Just wanted to share some photos of the new Shelby CSX8000 Anniversary Edition as it arrived at Hillbank before it is shipped off to Vegas for "finalizing"...

If you are interested in any more information about this vehicle, or any of the new 7000/8000 series car, please PM me!

Is it still in Irvine? I would like to see it. What type of engine build is planned? I ordered an aluminum car and i'm putting a 1962 260 matching numbers engine and transmission into the car.

I'm curious...what would constitute a "matching numbers" drivetrain in a replica?

Jamo 02-12-2012 11:30 AM

Congrats on your purchase. I have`nt heard of anyone else fitting a 260 and T10. What carb?
Whats the csx number (of your replica?)
I believe 8998 is already in Vegas but it will return to lance. 9499001951 Phone him and you are more than welcome to inspect.

That there is some funny you know what.

I think Evan is knocking at the door, one moment please. :p

Unless it's an early CSX2000, I'm not sure I see the point, but that's why they make 31 flavors of ice cream.

fordracing65 02-12-2012 06:57 PM

I believe the one I saw at Barrett had a 427 windsor in it. DenBeste had it.

legenmetals 02-12-2012 09:38 PM

computerworks- engine and transmission are date coded the same month(dec. 1962)
Riverside racer- number 8968 -Weber carbs

Jamo 02-13-2012 12:20 AM

Geez Ron...don't you feel bad now?

LMH 02-13-2012 11:33 AM

Beautiful car! Just curious, does it have a clock and if so, what is it?
Larry

Riverside racer 02-13-2012 01:15 PM

clock

Hi Larry,
I would have placed money on you asking this after the clock posting!
The clock we use is the autometer 201-019
Because of quantities reqd, availability is important and as it is a 8000 series, not a 2000 it becomes one of the many little things that differ to make them recognizable
How is your build going? Post or mail me a pic or two.
Regards
Ross

LMH 02-13-2012 03:47 PM

LOL! I have a clock fetish!

My build is coming along albeit slowly. I'll email a couple pics.
Larry

Hey Mark that will be sweet having date coded parts in one of these. The originals had motor numbers stamped in the tag below the CSX #. That will be nice to stamp into yours. We did that with the 6000 I put together and matched the Shelby engine number as close as we could to the CSX #.

Sal Gerace 02-14-2012 08:14 PM

Where is the 8000 series being made?
