First steps...

What intake are you using, does it fit under the hood, that is one sweet ride, I'm jealous...

mickmate 09-28-2012 04:24 PM

Looks good Hector. Big congrats!

Tutosnake 09-28-2012 04:25 PM

Thank you!
(Coming from the owner of an aluminum 482 Kirkham, I do appreciate your kind words:3DSMILE:)
The manifold is an Edelbrock Victor FE single plane, ported to match the Edelbrock aluminum heads... It better fit:eek:!! Otherwise, I will drive around like a die-hard hotrodder, and my wife will not tolerate that;)

Tutosnake 09-28-2012 04:27 PM

Thank you, Nick!

Can't wait to start adding stuff from your shop;)

fordracing65 09-28-2012 04:34 PM

For the victor to fit under a Kirkham hood there has to be some modifications, usually cutting the carb pan down a bit, but the CSX uses different motor mounts so it might sit a little lower, still looks awesome love the white wheels, and the paint scheme, what a car.

Stentor 09-28-2012 07:21 PM

Looking very nice! I am tempted to make a drive down to Olthoff's to see it (would give an excuse to fire up my car).

When do you expect to pick her up from Dennis?

Tutosnake 09-28-2012 08:58 PM

If you do, take some pics for me:)

I keep adding things here and there (soon my pocket will put an end to that). However, the car should be ready for transport by next midweek, again, as long as I do not ask for more stuff;)

Sweet ride! Drive it like you stole it!!!!

Tutosnake 10-12-2012 08:03 PM

Jeff, I feel like your car and mine have "grown up" simultaneously...some day they need to meet each other

My car is home.

I have said this on SAAC:

DENNIS OLTHOFF AND BILL PARHAM ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!

The quality and attention to detail these two guys produce is stunning. This is my first Cobra, but I researched and studied this car extensively during the last two years. This car is so far beyond my expectations. It is far more handsome, stout, and loud than I ever imagined it would be. It met my goal to have as close to an original car as I could afford (with a couple of obvious deviations like the Victor intake, full roll bar, fire extinguisher, and the 12v outlet;)).

Unfortunately, my pictures are "too big" for the memory space allowed here. I am taking pictures with my own cameras now, and I guess they are set to the highest quality/size available image, and I did not think about that when we took them. I will go back and take a few with my iPhone...

fordracing65 10-18-2012 05:39 AM

Great car, great color, love the roll bar, love the victor inake, I wish it was mine, your the envy of many cobra owners....:MECOOL:

Tutosnake 10-18-2012 09:37 AM

Those are very kind words, thank you.
If the car puts a smile as big as mine on other people's faces , then it is worth sharing with everyone (not ready to pass the keys, though )

A friend who swapped his Ford GT for a SPF GT40 had it done by Oltholff. I think you can't do better. Documentation of our trip here.

Looking great Hector! I just received my exhaust this week so I'm officially starting work on my car this weekend. I'll start a thread so you'll be able to follow.

Tutosnake 10-19-2012 12:23 PM

Thanks, Mike. I can't wait to see your progress.

BTW if you know the trick on posting high resolution pics on CC, please let me know. My latest pics of the finished car are not accepted because they are files too big.
I have seen elsewhere on this forum many threads with multiple high resolution pics...wonder what I'm missing.

Take care and good luck with the build,

Hector

Tutosnake 10-19-2012 12:42 PM

Hey Tony, that is a sweet GT40. If I could afford another car, I would get a GT40 MKIV (even nicer body IMO)

What camera did you guys use? GoPro? It has an amazing resolution.

Thanks!

Hector
