It depends on your definition of "several" since this car was completed about 5-6 years ago.
Nasty and snide comments from keyboard commandos like yourself are what makes forums unpleasant.

My comment was in no way intended to be snide. It was simply an observation that your car and 3104 look like identical twins today today, but they certainly did not several years ago. I regret that you were offended by this statement of fact.

Dan good spot on the tailpipes, I saw the same thing. I like a slash cut to the end of them, I think it makes the world of difference. It really is a thing of beauty in its present configuration I think.

To 427 Street: I think you make an important point by admitting that your's was a knee jerk response to Ned's comment. I believe that such knee-jerk responses are the cause of most of the friction generated on forums such as this. As I first read Ned's response my thought was of how nicely he constructed his statement and how carefully he chose his words in order to not be offensive (as he as learned from over 40 years of dealing with Cobra owners, some of whom can be less than, shall we say, diplomatic when they state their feelings). Therefore, you can imagine my surprise when I saw your response.
I, too, have made such hasty comments on this forum and regretted making them later; many make such errors of judgment and, provided we fess up to our overzealous behavior, as you done, then we all learn from it and can go back to enjoying our hobby, which is why we are here in the first place.
You will not find a finer, more reputable person than Ned, in my opinion. Anyone that disagrees with that assessment should perhaps have their agenda very closely examined.
See, I have just provided you an example of me saying something that will get me in trouble and I will regret it later after I am threatened with lawsuits, etc, even though I didn't mention anyone by name.
I am already sorry.

^^^Well written Jim...through some PMs, I 'spoke' with Ned and we sat around with a peace pipe. After reading his PMs and his secondary response, things are not misconstrued.
Now, let's get back on topic of how my car was fashioned after CSX3104!

Ned, That was the statement that I thought would get me in trouble...
Good thing CSX 2401 is a convertible or your head wouldn't fit! I am confident that we can shrink that puppy before the tour!

Mentioning the tour brought back thoughts of the 289 that caught fire last year, is that being repaired?

It left the shop of Drew Serb late this week and was delivered to Mike McCluskey's in Torrance for finishing. Metal work is done, and the shell looks great.

What caused the fire? What was done to contain it?

Fuel line ruptured near the carburetor while driving through a tunnel in Utah on a Cobra tour. Once that happens, there is very little one can do to contain it. The couple driving were lucky to bail out before being seriously burned.

How come the rest of the Cobras in that saloon cannot be touched, but CSX3104 can be? Is the car "public friendly" and the others not? In that case, wonder if one can just walk in, take it for a test drive, hand the keys back (5 hours later) and say "$1.1M is just a tad bit too north of my budget, but nice car anyways! I'll give you a call..."

CSX 3104 is a beautiful car!!!!! I am partial to the Street version, but so miss the look of the Sunburst wheels on these cars.
As I have posted here before, I have an original set of Sunbursts on my car. Love the look.
I'll start another thread to try to track their history.
Cheers
Greg
