Did SA offer a convertible top for the CSX4000 cars ??
Been thinking of a top for the colder temps up here.

Not sure if SA offered a full top . The ferrules bows and push dot fastners are available from vendors like CR and Finishline. Some of the other replica manufacturers have full tops on offer. Hope this helps.

Yes, they offered it, few owners bought them.
Out of the 100,000+ miles in my Cobras, I think I've only used the top(s) three times.

You are kidding, right?
How soon you forget about calling me crazy for my single digit rides while I lived in the northeast.
37 degrees is easily doable, you just have to dress in layers.

I haven't seen one of these for years, but if you want to know I would suggest you call Shelby American at 702-942-7325 and ask for Tony in the Cobra shop.

I remember reading about them. In my younger years no problem. Now I should be in Fl for the winter !:D

Do all the 4000 series cars come with the top ferrule mounts?
The two little tubes welded on the frame, just behind the doors.

A polished top from Kirkham on a painted car would look stunning. Add brushed stripes to match width of stripes on car.

My CSX4017LA does not have the ferrules you mentioned, nor lift dots. I believe Nick @ Acton offers a convertible top. There is a fellow on this site who fabricates custom hardtops but I believe he needs the car to insure the contours are matched. I agree with the layering concept of Bills. Even in SoCal the run to Willow Springs in February often requires East Coast layers and especially warm gloves.

Just my thoughts but if a car wasn't made with the ferrule mount that's welded to the frame, a new soft top most likely won't fit. The tube could be added but would take a lot of work to weld it in with the body fitted. A hard top would probably be a better choice.
Just a thought anyway.
