Default CSX 4000 on Ebay

Not my car but seems well priced unless I’m missing something

Just a few things I noted. The ride height is way to high, the drivers seat looks like someone has been kneeling in it judging by the wrinkles and the hood does not fit properly. I'm glad my CSX only has one battery and it's in the trunk.

Maybe it is just the angle of the photographs, but what is up with the windshield ?

$100,000 (rounded buy it now) for a running CSX? I think the CSX rollers are $110,000-115,000. I don’t get it.

Here is from 3 years ago. Not quite sure why it is under valued. Windshield, ride height and hood fit all look odd as stated earlier. Curious if it’s been in a wreck.

Looks more like somebody has been kneeling on the expansion tank...

Something/somebody really did a number on that tank, those things are pretty damned stout...definitely some trauma there...

The tank was probably an "original" salvaged from a trackside carcass ;-)
The windshield, rollbar, ride height, and seat seem to be designed for a very tall, very large, individual. Well over 6 feet and possibly somewhere around 400 pounds?
Intake manifold is not the best, have to wonder what the source of the engine was (with expansion tank).

As long as nothing 'happened' to the car, I'd say it's a bargain.
Everything mentioned is an easy fix.
Windshield rake?
Dent in expansion tank?
Wrinkly seat?
Ride height?
Hood alignment?
Come on, guys.

The car was a one owner out of California. It was never damaged according the the owner. I think the hood is a alignment issue and the windshield as someone stated is just angled high for a taller driver. Some of the other things are cosmetic and for the price I think a heck of a deal.

Worthy of a PPI. The price is too low to not (1) have a story or (2) being sold by an uninformed party. I think with the inconsistencies it is more likely #1.

Don't know how to separate just one photo out of album but one picture shows how overflow tank had to be made because of engine height. Note tank is shorter because of solid motor mounts. Don't know but maybe hood clearance problems caused problem on that car. Would have to slam hood pretty hard to do that to the tank. Click on picture to get bigger view

Car looks nice imo, easy adjustments to the coil overs and windshield should make the car look better.
Seat cover may need a little stretching but car over all looks to be very tidy.
Maybe install a nice ford intake with a single carburetor and Turkey pan along with a new coolant tank and that would make the engine look a lot better.
Those batteries may need to be swapped out as well, a narrower set should allow the passenger seat to adjust back a bit.
Under 100k for a csx 4k with a 427, I would say great deal.
Overall nice car at a great price!

Not a single word in the description about the car's condition - mechanical or otherwise. The dealer is allowing the photos to speak 100% of the story, which doesn't tell much to me. Perhaps the asking price is reflective of the condition and the car needs work. Even if it doesn't (they all typically do), it's not like $100K is chump change. That's still a lot of money for most people.

I agree! just look at that low, mean stance and the rear tire perfectly shrouded by the fender bulge (as the automotive gods intended). There's an almost identical photo of another red Cobra in the classifieds with the rear fender sitting way high above the tire - a look that's become so commonplace from more recent manufacturers.

I read through all of the comments before taking a look and yep, the ebay photos do look odd but on their website, most of the pics posted help normalize the car (some).

The angle of the picture taken does make the seat look like a nightmare for a passenger if they're above 5'2". The only other comment I have is the Frankenstein wiring job on the batteries. Instead of going with sealed batteries, it looks like they put in two batteries from Wally World and didn't bother covering them up.....God forbid someone accidentally drop something across those terminals.

Regardless, the car is listed as "Sale Pending" on their site.
