I couldn't agree more. The cost for these tires has zoomed beyond outrageous to now absurd levels. I understand the feeling amongst many here that they are the best tire for our cars. However, because they're the best tire available for our cars doesn't make them good tires. They're simply the best of a bad lot. The best premium tires on the market now, such as Michelin PS4, Pirelli PZero, etc cost significantly less than these Avons. These far superior tires cost less than these Avons. The better tires are not available in our size range. That fact alone doesn't justify the absurd cost of these tires. They're just not leading edge tires, and they cost far more than tires that are. Basically it seems that Avon knows they have us by the short hairs, and they're pulling as hard as they can. If it wasn't for the scarcity of tire choices in our size, no one would buy these tires. They are just not very good for the crazy price they're charging for them. Put another way, if the above Michelin's, Pirelli's, etc were available in our size for the price they typically go for to fit Porsche's, AMG's etc, would anyone even think for a moment about spending the ludicrous cost of these Avons given what they are? Half the tire for twice the price? Bottom line is, we're being gouged for these tires and they're nowhere near being the level of the performance tires out there. They only get bought because while she's the ugly girl on the street, she's the only girl on the street.
