Talk directly with Bob Marsh and you won't go wrong. Bob is a stand up kind of guy and a straight shooter. He will treat you with the same respect that you extend to him.

Just a note to those of you who have questioned SAI on their products. We just picked up the second car of our order CSX 4309 and it turned out great. Thanks again to all of the people who helped us out. They delivered the cars ahead of schedule.
Thanks Again,
Allan

Your new Shelby
Allan: Have you any pictures of your new car? Also have you heard any news regarding Venture filing for bankruptcy? I wonder how it will affect SAI? Or rather, how will it affect the production of the cars on order and not under construction yet?

Hi Dan: Yes I will be attending this weekend. A buddy of mine has an SPF and both he and I will be riding together. Look forward to meeting you then.

I feel your pain!
I am not speaking from experience with any one in particular here but what I have learned is that a huge amount of patience is required. We are dealing with basically one off, hand made, pieces of art here. It is a tough spot for all involved. The few projects I have been through have ALL gone over budget in time and money. And if you are like me, you are not a very patient 'waiter'. All the frustration will melt away the first time you pull your new baby out of the drive and head for the open road.

John,
You appear to be very unhappy with your dealings with Shelby American, why don't you ask them to buy you out and just walk away. What little you loose you'll save on Excedrin and Tagamet.

i tried that once but they were unwilling to do it. i let kirkham have the car to do the needed repairs and i was assured the car would be back by june. as it sits now i am heavly invested in eng., trans., and many other parts for the car............what i would really like from all parties involved is for them to be completely upfront with me about what's going on................. i'm not a wealthy person (just a mechanic) i had to refinance my house to be able to have my dream come true and i don't think it should be playing out like this..............when i first checked into purchasing this vehicle i was called nearly every night about the status of the money..............now i get few calls if any................they have the money.................

John,
Not to steer the attention away, but didn't the Kirkham's send the body back to Poland? Wouldn't they know the status, as I'm sure it will arrive back to them? I thought both SAI and Kirkham are invloved? Maybe I'm mistaken?

John,
I did some background checks and your car is "on the water" in transit. This is reliable, sound information from the "horses mouth" and unless you can make a ship travel like a hydroplane, it will be awhile before you'll be cruising. When it arises in port it will be detained by customs, inspected and released THEN transported to it's final destination. This is exactly how Superformances are handled so I appreciate your anxiety. Bottom line, it will be here, so take some Tagamet and a few Excedrin. I ordered my second SPF in October and it didn't arrive at the dealership until March!

bill yes the kirkhams sent the car back to poland it arrived ahead of schedule and was supposed to be returned to me in june (see "hi dave" in kirkham "manufacturer's" posts). i was not informed of any delays,etc....which seems to be the normal lines of communication........there is none. it takes just less than 4 weeks for a cargo ship to arrive in san diego (going thru the panama canal) from europe, this ship is supposed to land in texas? it would be nice if the horses mouth talked to me......

dan
just wanted to know if you had to send the spf back to the manufacturer because it needed to be repaired? my simple reason for this whole thread is that "SAI" should never have delivered this product to ANY customer in the condition it was in. when i bought (payed for in full) this vehicle in december i was promised delivery in 2 weeks........

Automotive industry and Shipping Industry
CSX700?,
I too have worked in the Auto Industry and now worked in the shipping industry. I am also very familiar with Kirkham Motorsports. I can tell you that as soon as the container hits the US port of call it will be loaded on a truck and sent to Salt Lake City. I still believe the containers for Kirkham Motorsports clear custonms in Salt Lake City. But I do know that Kirkhams have a well established relationship with customs and the cars come through regularly so that should be no problem. I do know that in the shipping world the there is a big difference between a car hauler ship and a container ship. But with any ship there can be delays due to engine problems, dock traffic and anything else. My schedule to work on these ships is always changing from hour to hour.
Have you called Kirkham Motorsports? I can easily get through to them during regular business hours. This forum is not the place to be trying to contact them. It is not the most efficient mode of conversation. Hope all goes well with your car and I can assure you will get answers just maybe not the answers you want to hear.
