60 day temp!
DMV will issue a 60 day temp registration. They don't know it won't pass smog. And you can usually get one additional 60 day extension. So that's 4 months of driving on a temp. and then wait until next Jan for an SB100 #.
Yes, you have to pass a 'sniff' test!

Home Soon!
Good news from my dealer. The parts for my car have arrived, so my car will be delivered to my dealer next week.
I should be able to pick her up in a couple of weeks!
I have just posted a few more pictures in my photo gallery of CSX4795. What a beauty!
Thanks for the support everyone, I'm glad I waited!

Hey Maurice,
Go ahead and fill out a reg for WSCB, (on the website) entering all your details under FE Specialties vendor spot. i.e. need license plate, your full name, etc - for security reasons, to complete your badge, etc. You can email or mail it to the WSCB post office box. Glad you are attending with yours. Maybe we can figure out how to get Jerome close/over near you guys. Let me know if you guys need anything. DC

CSX4795 is at home!
I just added a couple of pictures of CSX4795 on my trailer, to my photo gallery. She is now safe at home!
jdog
P.S. I know it's been a long time coming, but the way I feel right now, I'd wait 10 years for one of these cars!
I would like to thank Marc Greeley of Newport Shelby, for working with me thru all of this. And also Bill Malone for facilitating things at HST, and making sure these cars happen! I would not have my car today, without either one of these guy's!

If you go lean on the jets theres a good chance it would pass smog and could be registered as 'year of block'. Of course the SB100 route is the best way, but it's good to have a backup plan.
We need MORE engine blogs, there few and far between.
So the car turned out to be a nice little 'investment' after all, and darn few of us can say THAT! What rear gear and trans are you running? IF top loader, Close or Wide ratio? What cam? Will it run in the 11's at the 1/4 mile (if not, stay under the porch).

I'm using a 5-speed Tremec tranny w/3.54 rear end. I don't know if it will run 11's, but I'll stay close to the porch for awhile until I find out!
These cars sure are sweeter once the pressure of waiting for delivery ends! My future is so bright, "I gotta wear shades"!
jdog
P.S. Thanks Jamo, I sure will!
Yeah Ernie, I got lucky on this one, as it turns out. I usually buy high and sell low, this was an anomaly for sure!

I think she knows!
I posted this on the Cobra recognition post but I thought it belonged here also:
"I've only had my Cobra since last weekend, I brought it home on Sat. Thank you very much. So this evening after dinner I wander out to the garage to spend a little quality quiet time with my car, while my wife watches the latest episode of American Survivor or what ever on TV.
After about 20 min. my dear sweet wife of 30+ years comes out and sits in the car. She looks around the car and says:
"This is a beautiful car, If I ever catch you ****ing around, I will own this and my attorney will be driving it!" and walks out!
I think she knows!

Nothing like a little well timed "Demonstration" of tugging at the "Short Hairs" just so she now knows how to keep you in line. Shelby and the other various MFRS send "THAT" pamphlet directly to the wives, and never let US know it even exists! My wife got one too!
