I am just a little confused. HST is making CSX cars for Shelby and so is Hi-Tech? Two separate source for Fiberglass cars. Between these two are they identical? Can a person pick where they want theirs made?

HST picked up the contract first on recent 'glas CSX cars outsource deal.
Hi-Tech was cultivated as a second source, at a time when HST was slow to deliver.
Both are made to SA specs.
I think production releases have been let to both, in batches.
I bet you could 'spec' a Hi-tech car if you ordered thru a SPF / SA dealer...

Unfortunately this type of confusion is another example of how Shelby has diluted and bastardized what was once a great operation and brand. People on this forum are totally confused by what the heck Shelby has done with this and who he has sold his name to this time. Imagine how confused people that don't participate in this forum must be.

I think people who have no knowledge of the forum are much happier than us fruitcakes who follow the minutia of the backstage business.
They order a car...and get it. ....Done deal.

Shelby is in business to sell cars. They have two operations that build Cobra's to Shelby specs. Where is the confusion? Of course you could be just stirring the pot.

No not stirring any pot. Just observing the confusion as I read through the various posts on this thread. Many are clearly confused.

It's always amusing to see people get so fired up about modern-day Shelby CSX cars. It's one of the most contentious issues on the forum.
Bottom line--if you want a modern-day Shelby product, then go ahead and order it. The quality is very good and delivery times have improved dramatically. And it is a Shelby Cobra (not original), which is important to some.
If you don't want a modern-day CSX car, then order the Kirkham, SPF, or ERA (or whatever car floats your boat). Kirkham, SPF, and ERA make great cars.
If it's that important to you, and you've got the money, then go buy an original Cobra.
Watching the jabs go back and forth is comical. It's like listening to a political debate.
