I had to modify the steering mount to get the CSX 4000 collumn to go up as there was less than 5" clearance between the bottom of the steering wheel rim and the top of the (un-modified at the time) seat bottom cushion.

Thanks Steve,

Did you make those changes in your CSX Street Car?

Do you know the differences between an HST and Hi Tech CSX ?

Some of the drops can be mounted on the other side of the bracket to raise the wheel. I had one where I machined the slot lower and shaved some other features to fit a 16" wheel in there.

Yep, You can with a little work raise the steering wheel. I have a older style 16 inch wheel My trunk latch is that way also. I use a thin chrome frame for the license plate.

I was looking for a picture of the rear end of my HST-built CSX4005LA (remember, it's a carbon fiber body not fiberglass). The position of the license plate fixture (light and mounting bracket) relative to the trunk handle is such that the handle does rub on the front of my plate but I also have an aluminum frame on the plate. The mounting bracket itself can be removed (along with the light) and the mounting bracket portion bent a little to push the bottom more towards the trunk but don't take it too far or the plate will rub.

This is always a trick as to whether or not original dimensions for a British (shorter) plate are used between plate light and trunk handle I believe.

There's always a way around things though.......

I finally found the picture on Photobucket. Mine looks not too different:

The plate frame does almost go down to the latch. When I turn it the back side rubs on the frame.
