Latest info on new CSX order??
Just a few questions to update the latest news on a new CSX
1. What is the wait for a new CSX from order to delivery?
2. Where are the bodies made now?
3. Chassis and final assembly (roller) done in Las Vegas?
4. What is the wait like for a Shelby Engine?
5. Where are Shelby Engine's made?
6. How is the quality of the car now? In older posts it appears they had some quality control issues in other countries.
Thanks guys, all of these stories of waiting a year or more is kind of scary.

Have you placed an order and are waiting, or are you looking to order?
I ask, because there are quite a few brand new rollers for sale in various parts of the country, waiting for owners. Ready for immediate purchase, as long as it's a color combo you like of course.
As for new orders, cars are made by HST in Mexico and Hi-Tech in South Africa. Same car, just different places making them to Shelby specs. Both cars are outstanding.
Long wait times have dwindled down over the past year, as production really kicked up. I am not sure what a NEW order would take time wise, but it surely wouldn't be a year I would think. Just two years ago, guys had been waiting 3 years for their cars. Times have changed since then.
As for the Shelby motors, that's a different division, and I really don't have any experiance with that.

Are you looking for a fiberglass car or aluminum (as this will impact answers to your questions)?
As Power Surge mentioned, the wait time for production of CSX4000 cars has dropped dramatically. And there are rollers that are immediately available through dealers.
Regarding a Shelby engine--you can get a Shelby FE aluminum block through numerous sources (as well as other Shelby engine components), and you can have a reputable engine builder put together the Shelby engine for you (e.g., Keith Craft, Gessford, Barry R, Roush), or you can have Shelby (Carroll Shelby Enterprises) build a complete engine for you (for which you will pay a premium, and likely have less HP and TQ than if you had the aforementioned guys build you a motor).
Good luck.

I was at a recent good guys car show, and saw my second csx in peson, I was very dissappointed in the car, the engine was up against the fire wall, the headers were hitting the fender when running, for over a hundred thousand bucks I dont think so, just thought I would put my two cents in.

Sounds like you were looking at a home built car that someone put a Shelby VIN plate on and stamped a CSX number in it.
Even if it was a CSX car, they come as rollers. The two issues you mentioned would be installer errors.
Oh, and glass CSX rollers aren't anywhere near 100k.

I was thinking of a fiberglass car.
That Shelby engine info is very interesting. Sounds like I need to do some more research in that area.

I have helped my friend and neighbor complete about 7 CSX fiberglass Cobra's in the past 12 months. All were build in Mexico. The person who bought these rollers had no trouble getting them in a fairly quick manner. You just have to have the money. Many people did not have the money after the inital deposit they put down to order the Shelby. This slowed the process greatly for these individual.
Again the Shelby blocks are available from several shops with no wait.
Quailty can be very good to good with a few problems. ie: clutch master cylinder that need to be rebuilt because of poor quality masters or they were installed incorrectly in Mexico. wiring incorrectly done.
