I have heard exactly the opposite from a Shelby dealer that HST cars are much better quality than Hi-Tech (Superformance) and he will only order those.

I am not a Superformance lover for lots of technical reasons but, don't believe everthing you hear about the HST cars from whoever is telling you.
Facts. The original 427 cars were designed as competition cars are were and are very good in all aspects. The suspension worked. The Girling brakes worked. The cars ran really well. In their original form and with a competant driver who doesn't rely on modern mechanics, they will sill run circles around anything on the planet.
Hey, the Original Daytona coupes with leaf springs and Girling brakes will still be front runners.
