CSX6000 to be auctioned at Mecum Monterey
Here's your chance to buy a Shelby 427SC continuation Cobra -- chassis no. CSX6000 -- at the Mecum auction in Monterey on Aug 15 (Sat), 2009. It's painted in traditional Guardsman Blue with white stripes and is powered by a 427 side oiler.

This is a Mexico built car. Be interesting to see what it brings.
|
Not sure if the glass 6000 series car has any extra value but I am guessing the owner does. I would bet it is a NS like most on the Mecum.
|
What's the difference between a 'glass CSX 4000 car and a 'glass CSX6000 car?
|
nothing but the 6 still the same car
|
and just for the record............the mexican cars kinda suck

Pretty much everything from there does. There is no Spanish word for "quality". |
I intend to be there and maybe take some pics....**)**)

Mexican?
BigRed427: How do you know it's a Mexican CSX?
Is there a master list with CSX numbers and origins on new CSX Cobras? Why is HST making anything (except maybe for the carbon fiber cars) now that Hi-Tech is making the glass cars? Anybody know? |
lack of quality

You said mexican cars suck, which I took as quality related. Your speaking of design related things which I assume you are comparing to original, because I've never heard anyone complain about such things before on these cars. There have been a ton of running design and production changes on the 4000 cars from the beginning to now, and as the cars getting newer, they become more removed from original specs. To answer rodneyms question, both HST and Hi-Tech currently build 4000/6000 cars. They are not all built by Hi-tech. Both "brands" of CSX are excellent quality cars. Our own Bill Malone here makes regular trips to HST to personally check the build of all HST cars, ensuring they leave 100%. |
all i know is that i have seen an early 4000, the new 6000 side by side and the 6000 sucked. maybe because of production changes or whatever. maybe it was just that individual build of that car by someone who just bangs out cobras for a buck. i don't know why they changed. not for the better. i would have to say that if a person wants to own an authentic copy of a cobra............buy or build a ........................kirkham.

Me He Co
We built a killer motor for one of the Tequila Cars. Underneath, there is little that looks like 1965 and the suspension needed lots of attention and re-do right from the factory. Everything moved. I mean everything. It was scary to drive without pulling it all apart and doing all the bearing clearances again.
Good Fast Cheap ..........Pick 2, You don't get everything |
I like mine. It suffers from some adjustments - I blame this on a buyer that though he bought a Ford from a dealer -- but the carbon fiber body is absolutely perfect. In the physical body I have absolutely no complaints and nothing but praise.
CSX4005LA. Cheers |
Am I missing something? Why is the auction of a fiberglass CSX with a 427 sideoiler rate as news? There are plenty for sale on eBay during the year and there was a thread just a couple days ago from a CSX dealer in the Central Valley with several of them (complete and roller) for sale.
