Default Shelby CSX5040

I've been a lurker on this site for several years but since I don't own a Cobra (only a dream at this point) this is my first post.

Can anyone tell me about 5000 series Cobra's

http://www.harwellmotors.com/showcar.php?cid=294

I've done some research and the only CSX5000 series numbers I could find were on the Series 1 cars, not Cobras. The picture in this post shows the car's # as CSX5040. Is this one of the infamous Mexican built cars?

Is this car worth the 28K they are asking for it??

This car is a simple replica; it was not made by Shelby American.

The CSX number is just a made-up number...not in any legit sequence...and put onto repro tags.
The VIN tag is a repro of the 67 Shelby GT350/500 tag.

Is it worth what they are asking? Evaluate it as you would any other clone.

Remember, you get what you pay for. This car isn't close to anything Shelby ever built.

The ad says $21900, it is cheesily done at best. The seats, stereo, console etc look horrendous to me. The wheels are the wrong style for the car and the arse sits waaaay too high for looks or handling. The trunk bulge over the tank looks like a Mustang tank like an LAExotics or something similar. The drivers door looks like it's sticking out at the front. Three pictures of the trunk and none of the underside, what's that about? It might be a cheap assembled sorted and running car if it can be straightened out for little more cash. It doesn't look like it equals or exceeds the sum of its parts to me. I'll be quiet now about someones pride and joy.

Thanks Dean, I was trying to give Slider some pointers without being a basher. Slider if you like it and can afford it go for it but I would recommend hanging out here and reading alot first or better yet get an expert off here from your area to look at a couple with you. Find out where some gatherings are in your area and get to know some of the people and the different breeds of Cobra out there. There is a huge variation in quality and pricing as Zoera points out. The ticket is finding where the two meet as that is the value.
