Unfortunately, I don't know the weight of a fully dressed Shelby FE. So far, in the time I've been here, we haven't weighed one before it shipped.

I believe the block weighs ~125 lbs; ~130 lbs including steel main caps and fasteners.

Hope this helps,

Roughly 465-485 #s. Depending on the internals and ancillarys.

I had imagined that I would probably not be in the right place at the right time to weigh my beast all by itself when assembled, so I,ve been weighing all my components as received. It goes like this:

Shelby block with main studs, main caps, cross bolts and head studs 122#s
Scat stroker crank 57#s
Scat steel rods, JE pistons, pins, rings 12#s
bhj balancer 7#s
Mc Leod flywheel 28#s
2 KKR stage 2 heads fully assembled 53#s
2 Erson shaft mount roller rockers 12#s
Crane hyd rllr lifters ?#s (still on backorder)
Smith bros pushers 2 #s
TWM FI manifold, throttles, injectors, and linkage 39#s
Armondo pan, tray, pickup 15#s
Shelby water pump 10#s
Powermaster starter 10#s
Total so far 367#s

I don't think roller lifters and a set of fabbed alum valve covers are going to rack up the additional 100#s that Maverick is calling for. I guess we'll see pretty soon.

Welcome, from Carroll Shelby

Have you noticed that it's tough finding quality performance parts to build a reliable FE engine? I have and I decided to do something about it by introducing my own line of Shelby FE™ performance parts. I worked with my design staff to build the best, because my name is on them. My racing legacy with FE performance engines extends back to my race winning 427 Cobras and GT-40 Mk.IV racers that won LeMans. Three decades later, my newer Shelby FE™ parts utilize proven design refinement to create FE performance parts for the new millennium.

My catalog illustrates an overall selection of parts available, but we can supply complete engines or parts from oil pan to carburetor to build your own Shelby 427 FE™ aluminum or cast iron engine just the way you want it. Call and speak directly to our engine department with your tech questions and orders. You have my name on it.
