Default Motion Performance 289 Dragginsnake Cobra - which chassis number?

Does anyone know the chassis number of the Motion Performance 289 Dragginsnake Cobra prepared by Joel Rosen?

I checked the 2008 SAAC registry, but couldn`t find the answer there.

(I know that the Motion Performance 427 King Cobra drag car was CSX3159.)

How many think that was a staged photo with an unseen jack holding up the front end?

I don't see a lot of sidewall flex. I'm thinking it's staged but it's still coll!

Picture looks like it was taken in front of Motion's shop in their parking lot.
That's Sunrise Highway, with the Long Island Railroad tracks behind it.

With such a distinctive hood scoop/bubble, you'd think someone would recognize this car (and its chassis number).

Although the story is that this car belonged to Joel Rosen, the SAAC registry does not show him as the owner of any small-block Cobra.

Remember that the picture is over 45 years old. The car was disposed of shortly after, when Motion switched to Chevy.
The car probably shed that look and color when the next owner got it.

Correctomundo CW! I remember that lot well when I used to drive a delivery van to Joel at Motion around 1978!!! When I worked for D*n's Speed Shop.

Yes, I know, it's an old thread..... but does anone on this forum know what the CSX number of this "DragginSnake" is?

It's the gold 289 car, not their later 427 car, CSX3159.

That photo is not staged. I remember seeing a picture in the Indianapolis Star of the snake pulling its wheels off the line back then....65?

This photo was staged, all you have to do is look at the rear slicks sidewall to tell that there is no rotational torque being applied.

That car pulled lots of wheelies! Zoom in close, those lines are wrinkles on the back of tire. Record holder in Motion Performance name. 340 SBF launching at 7000, shift at 8000, traps at 8700. 4:88 or lower gears. Martyn L Schorrs book Motion Performance has all the part numbers and details of the car. The other question, I think unsolved not sure, what happened to Clem Hoppe owner of CSX3159 who disappeared?

back in 65 I don't think the slicks wrinkled as much.

Your right you can see small wrinkles about 2 or 3 inches apart. I don’t believe that Joel Rosen or Jack Geiselmann would fake anything, although I read they might have led Shelby to believe that they had more cash then what they really had...Motion, what a great story

I am not saying that the car couldn’t or wouldn’t pull the front wheels. What I am saying is that the tires sidewall does not indicate any twisting reaction from the torque load. Use this photo as an example....

The black stripe under the car is a slab joint. It’s in their parking lot. The 4 black twisted lines from 3 to 5 o’clock on the tire are wrinkles as are the horizontal lines at bottom of wheel level. There are more photos on the web of this car pulling wheelies with little tire deflection. You can get this same photo in higher quality and see more detail. There are more Gas Ronda Mustang wheelie pictures with little tire deflection. I’m on a Mac with big monitor. Maybe hard to see on a fone

In an article in “The Car Guy Chronicles, Lost n Found : Motion King Cobra” it states Rosen wrecked his gold car at Islip Speedway and sold the wreck to Barry Richter, a Corvette broker. He then raced the Clem Hoppe CSX3159
