The key is "raced only once".

Got it !!
1967
Lemans
Gurney-Foyt
Mk IV-J-6
Also found that the J-4 of Mclaren-Andretti had one race and one win at Sebring in 1967.

It's not the Mk4's, because they raced at Sebring in their debut, so the answer is:...... (I'll e-mail you so others can be stumped for awhile.)

My W.A.G. would be the open-topped '40 (a MkII?). Don't recall where it would have raced/won--Sebring? Daytona? Guess it doesn't matter since this is all pure speculation from some deep, dark recess of my brain. Where are my GT40 books when I need them?

Not sure if Cal had the picture handy, but Bob B. gets the nod for Miles/Ruby in the X-1 at Sebring '66, when Gurney's car quit with a 1 1/2 lap lead 1/4 mile from the finish.

Isn't that car owned by a CC member currently? I seem to recall seeing it in someone's photo gallery. I think it was owned by Fran Kress for a period of time, right, Cal? It--or a real, open-topped GT40--was for sale at Elkhart Lake a few years back--

I've got a video of the Los Angeles Grand Prix in 65 with an open top in it (must be a Mark I though)

Kress's cab is an ERA GT-40. I think he just sold that car.
