Default CSX 2000 Dealer Analysis: A Little Trivia

Just a little trivia to keep the interest alive. I just did a pretty extensive workup on the CSX 2000 dealership system. Does anyone care to guess the number of dealers who sold CSX 2000 cars to the public? Also, how many women were original owners of the 2000 series cars?

Default Could it be...

42 dealers and 6 women?

Rick

Pretty good, Rick. You show your feminine side very well. There were seven KNOWN women purchasers: (2) Ohio; (1) California; (1) Utah; (1) Illinois; (1) Florida; (1) Wisconsin.

The earliest owned one was CSX 2126 sold through High Peformance Motors of California. It was an ex Ford Test car. It was the first such car to use rack & pinion steering. The reason it was a "test" car, I suspect.

Regarding the dealership number, you are way off, however.

My answer was developed by running the data through the MK IV Model 6000B computer, i.e. a SWAG! I always take a guess and then subtract one for good measure...guess I would have been right on the "woman purchaser" if I hadn't. Dealer count...HMMM...there were lots of small, independant dealers at first before Ford got involved in the sales and marketing, maybe 75 dealers?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Rick
