Cobra bumpers.. whats right?
You have quick jacks, kidney bean bumpers and the full bumper.. where did the full bumper come from.. were they on the real S/C cars, just the 289 or what is the story on this..

Clois I think he means this:

Unless that was sarcasm, then I'm an idiot. ![Whacked](http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/images/smilies/freak6.gif)

No sarcasim at all I just didn't know. I really thought he was refering to a full horizontal bumper.

Raceral,
Found a site in AU specifically concerning authenticity. I don't know how accurate the info is. Appears to be a CC member.
http://users.pipeline.com.au/bryanw/...g_an_authe.htm
"Bumpers + o/riders or Quick jacks
427SC Only the SC had quick lift jack points - note the direction of mounting. The S/C had no bumpers.
Finish: same explanation as for the heat extractors.
427R Overriders and bumpers were fitted front and rear - same as AC289
AC289 Same as for the 427R."
"Grille - air splitter
427S/C The S/C never had a grille or air splitter
427R There was no mesh covering the "mouth" but it did have an air splitter - same as AC289.
AC289 Same as for the Roadster."
Hope this helps,
Jim

These were an accesory marketed to protect the vulnerable leading edge of the radiator opening, and the area between the uprights on the rear of the car. I believe AMCO was the vendor. They also made softops and plastic side windows for the various varieties of convertables on the market in the 60's & 70's. They were very inexpensive at the time.
