New Karl Ludvigsen book
Back in 1977, Karl Ludvigsen wrote what I think many people consider the seminal book on Porsche, titled "Excellence was Expected". Obviously, a lot has transpired since then in the world of cars and racing. I just saw on another website that a new, three-volume edition of the book is due out at the beginning of September. I don't recall all of the details but it is over 1,500 pages and contains over 1,800 illustrations and cutaway drawings. The website I saw it on wanted $240.00 plus shipping for it. I just did a search on www.amazon.com and they have it for pre-order for $167.00, plus you can get free shipping just by asking for it when you order. Either way, it's a pricey book, but if you're into Porsches or racing history, it's probably a must-have--
