Default What were they saying in 1963?

What was the buzz in the media about the Cobra in it's first serious year of racing?

Here is a rare two-page article that was in the Road America 500 Yearbook (Sep. 1963)...

(...there is a very interesting story about how I got this and, maybe, a few more pieces of vintage press to be posted in the next few weeks...I discovered a client of mine worked in the media and was part of a race team in the late fifties / early sixties...more to come.)

Ron,

Do you have a copy of the November '65 Sports Car Graphic Magazine? It's the one with two 427 Cobras on the cover. It has a great article on the BB car's debut. I'd post as you have done but don't know how.

Neat article you put up.

Al

Absolutely.. it is a great reference on early comp car details.

No need to scan; Bob P. has it up on the ERA site:

Ron,

OMG....got tears in my eyes when I saw that cover! That's the mag. my Dad brought home in 1965, that gave me the bug, still inside of me 39 years later.

Thanks......

One of the most wonderful description of the Cobra from the early years was.. "The KING KONG of Sportcars".

If you want to see the covers and read about the Cobra Press in books and magazines, then take a gander at my Cobra Web Bibliography.

Just click the WWW button on my reply or go to the URL in my signature line. Just give it a while to load if you are on Dial Up.
There is a book section and a magazine section. Both sections are alphabetically arranged.

Additions are made just about every day as I go thru my vast collection and catalog and photgraph it.

The KING KONG of Sportcars! Ya gotta love that...

Cheers and Enjoy!

Hey,
I am not trying to hijack your thread,

but,

Motorsports Int, Cobra Restorers, or someone else ??

Thanks,
