Anyone have the original '65-'66 S-A Press Kit?
If you do, can you recall what the last couple of pictures are that were included in the duo tang folder (white, blue on cover) My memory is a little fuzzy since I last had the complete kit 42 years ago. I know there's two guys repro'ing them but don't know if they included all the shots. I need to have a description of each picture ASAP. Let's see if your memory is any better than mine...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The glossy 8 x 10 photographs in the 1965/1966 Shelby-American factory press kit were as follows:
1.Work area of shop showing fliptop bodyless in front, Cobra 98 in middle
2. 1966 Shelby son truck being shipped out
3.front 3/4 of smooth hood 427 cobra street car with chrome grille guard
4.Shelby GT-350s R-model assembly lie, men in white working on cars
5.Aerial shot of factory, 427 Cobras lined up
6. 1966 Shelbys at ground level, still awaiting rear 3/4 windows, rear view
7. 1966 Shelby GT350 high front 3/4 view
8. 1964 Shelby R-model next to street model, high front 3/34 view
9. 289 Cobra next to 427 front high front view
10. Parking lot shot, sea of white 1965 GT350s, about 50 cars in picture at LAX,
11. "Pit" shot in factory, showing workmen in pit installing headers
12. 289 cobra street car, whitewall tires, next to Miles 289 Cobra race car, no. 98 front 3/4
13. GT350 door open worker welding on floor
14. Side view 427 Cobra street car, sunburst wheels (need this shot in glossy)
15. Parking lot shot, many Shelby GT350s without hoods, some 427 Cobra unpainted in background
16.
17.
I also have an additional picture of a 427 Cobra race car, front 3/4, with a small chrome gas cap on the front right fender, which I heard means dry sump. The thing that puzzles me is the racing stripe down the middle of the car is three colors (of course it's black and white picture so I don't know which colors) but it looks like the approximately 4" wide 3-color stripe on the 250GTO Ferrari when that was introduced. I can't believe Shelby would have an Italian stripe on the official press car photo car but on the other hand maybe he did it to tick off Enzo. Was that picture in the press kit?
