Default CSX 2009 For Sale

FYI, CSX2009 just listed today on the NorCal Shelby club website:

Cars & Parts

I have no interest in the sale and I don't know the owner.

Question

It's a very pretty car......but it is no longer close to original, "Rack & Pinion conversion, FIA body, etc."

It is of course, a real Cobra with race history, but it no longer represents the era that it raced in IMHO. However, I don't own it and if the owner likes it better this way, God bless 'em!

Can someone clarify the "different" oil cooler setup on the current build of this car. It appears to have 4 hoses. Maybe 2 different coolers for some reason????
Thanks for the pictures, hay bales and all.........

Anyone know where I can get a driver's seat like that, with the side bolsters?

Default Csx2009

To Rick Parker:

The oil cooler is a dual inlet/outlet cooler that was speced by Dave Dralle the engine builder to fit the small confines of the scoop area inlet. There are probabely more cost effective and just as good coolers on the market today.

To Madmiles442:

The seat was from one of the venders that Mike McCluskey uses there in SOCAL. I do not know if the vender is still around, the seats were made back in the late 80's.

Default H & M factory team car, was it raced by Pabst?

Augie Pabst told me he raced a Cobra prepared by H &M maybe it was at Nassau. Pabst is famous for later racing a Scarab which I think he still owns (he still has a shop and campaigns in vintage racing). His family is the beer manufacturing family of the same name.
My question is--at this late date, almost five decades later, who sent the car over to H & M to prepare? Ford? Shelby? Not Pabst, I don't think he ever bought the car, he was just selected to be the driver. And I don't think Shelby would farm out a car to a rival. That makes me think Ford because they knew and trusted H & M and Shelby was a newbie to them at the time.

As far as the car in its present shape, I gather from the comments on the forum that this car would be worth a lot more if returned to original configuration which means rebodying, etc.? How much would that add--$100,000 for starters? It might not be worth it as you can never get
original enough for the real fanatics....who will pick apart any restorative effort you do.

Does anyone know what the make of the seats are in this car? The drivers seat is different from the passenger seat. I do not believe that I have ever seen a drivers seat quite like this one.
