Default Considering Purchase of SV

Hi All,

I am considering purchasing a Shell Valley Cobra that was assembled by the seller. It has a 350 engine in it that has been stroked to 427. Is there anything about the Shell Valley's that I should be concerned about? Admittedly I am not very experienced mechanically, so I need one that will not give me too many challenges. Any advise woud be helpful.

Thanks

You couldn't get any better service from Dana and the boys at Shell Valley. I used to own one and the service was top notch.

With that being said, if this car has a 350 Chevy in it, I'd pass it up. It's been shown that Cobras with Chevy motors will have a resale value just like the same car without an engine at all.

Pass on the Chevy motor unless it is being given away!

Did you mean 351 stroked to 427 ? That would make more sense....

Rich Anderson and Dana are top notch guys that love these cars and will make your experience a good one if you ever need their assistance. You couldn't ask for a better company to stand behind their product. You could probably call Dana or Rich and they could tell you a lot about the car you are considering.

Now what is wrong with chebbie motors? Wasnt there a thread posted on the temp server where they make great outdoor grills? Not to mention boat anchors or paper weights. If you are really creative, you can make planters out of them, or strip out the crank and you have a mailbox post.

Oh, almost forgot to add, the Shell Valley folks seem to be alright...

Kevin,

If you are not sure what you are looking at hire a service to look at it for you. If you are happy with the report, and happy with the price you are going to eventually pay, then go for it. Shell Valley has been around a long time and has a great product and customer base.
